Eh, I would think of it as effortless posting anyway as editing a post is more of preventing more explaining. I guess. Also I have this bad habit of making half a post and then editing in the rest.

So what's the deal with the admins reading our PMs huh?

OK now we're getting somewhere:

Yoshiman had a paranoid freak attack one day and decided he wanted to read everyone's PMs. In order to make sure he wasn't only getting part of any story, he downloaded the entire database. So then word gets out and suddenly he goes VERY VERY quiet (that's where we are now)

EDIT: Also; I should probably mention this comes in tandem with is ever present desire to be on top of all things MFGG, moderation, the U, anything that ever represented or represents status. He's been this way since EZbread

EDIT2: And he's been viewing all these posts for ~3 or 4 hours now and still hasn't had a word to say about it, it's HYSTERICAL.

Well that's the thing, he involved everyone.

Quite a bummer. In my opinion that's not good behavior for an admin. But then again, he's not an admin anymore... still pretty outrageous.

What do you think about it? Or what should be done to prevent this from happening in the future? Or should we accept that MFGG admins, if they so do wish, can take a peek at PMs if they think its justified?

MFGG does not have root admins anymore. Therefor they cannot read your mail.

Then it won't happen anymore.

Well here's what I know (none of this is conjecture):

- He downloaded the whole thing, so while there is a stopping point; he's spent more than one afternoon with his eyes wide open reading PMs.
- Retriever II's fix was to remove his admin status (slap on the wrist), and change it so no root admins exist that can download from the database like that anymore

How do you prevent it in the future? Well you don't make voyeuristic creepos admin anymore, because someone that wanted the spot that badly is bound to do something retarded. I mean envision PK being made an admin, that's what will happen. What is so wrong with just leaving Tragic and Jeff as the lone admins and getting rid of Yoshiman's mod status? The only thing keeping him from pulling the trigger right now is probably that he can lock topics, rofl. The only reason he doesn't? Well it would look REALLY bad now wouldn't it, plus he's cowering in fear over there, he's been reading this **** the whole time, he went anonymous the SECOND I started a topic about PMs, and the funny thing was I wasn't even going to talk about it tonight but MegaMan started on about it.

Yeahhhhhhhhhh anyway I realize admins can login to your name at any time, but this isn't what happened.

I only viewed them using the CP when I anticipated something to happen (like when Aurora said she was going to PM members 'pictures'). Additionally, admins couldn't read entire PMs unless they downloaded the database, otherwise all they could see was a preview of messages via the CP.

Future instances of this cannot occur, because I reported this instance to RII.
