Alright, some of you are probably confused.

Ok so I'm late to the thread, but while I knew of last night, this was seriously overly-blown out of proportion.

You know what, despite my relatively good mood today I'm going to come right out and say this is bull.

It was not a fact. He was making things up and stating them as fact. It was a lie that Yoshiman was searching around for voyeuristic and creepy reasons. This lie was made even worse by the fact that he (Nightwing) said it was not conjecture at all.

I have lost a ton of respect for you for even thinking of defending him after the way he behaved today.

He deserves support because so many ignorant people are maligning him for something harmless. Anyone who says Yoshiman was being malicious by looking for references to himself in PMs for the purpose of improving himself, is downright deceiving themselves. Furthermore, there's no reason at all to doubt what he says, since he has had a sterling reputation and is one of the boards' most major contributors.

Troublemakers like you, who make posts of the abysmal quality of this one, would be much better suited to a permaban than Yoshiman.

Also, like Nova said in the other thread, the admins own this board and can do what they want with it, and no one should be posting highly confidential material through PMs anyway, for that reason. Sure, Yoshiman wasn't an admin anymore when this happened, but that was only because things in his real life got in the way, not because he turned out to be unqualified.

You know, I'm a bit surprised you're not suspended by now. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, talking in this tone on the very forums which the guy you're talking to pays to host.

He didn't ban anyone for stuff found in those PMs. And he wasn't ****ing biased in banning. Don't give us this.

I think you need to leave it, but that's just me.

This did not have to do with ego, and was not petty. He said himself - and again there's no valid reason to disbelieve him - that he wanted to do this so that he could personally contact those people in order to improve himself if necessary.

The only reason I'm so angry - even after I was in a good mood earlier from catching up with a lot of work - is because people are making something that barely even matters into a huge deal and spouting all kinds of bitterness and slander because of it. They've turned the matter into a big deal.

Seriously when I heard it last night, I didn't see any ramifications, especially since it was said that it was all resolved.

PS I wasn't here last night.

I've just discovered it all today due to my schedule, and this is something I didn't even know of. Once I realized it fully, I still don't get it. DJY has had the chance, not taken it. No reason to go starting a war. There's a matter of trusting people, guys. And if DJY is on staff, it's obvious we trust him. So why would all this be any different? I find no worry in all of this, it's not like we find a mob at our door the next day due to leaked info. In perspective this is cacophony, and I am not worried about DJY's actions. As staff he has responsibilities to do, and as a staff he must also work with us, the members of the board. It's livelihood. We all should trust the staff, and those of you who freaked out about all this, just lighten up. Looks like it blew over us from the very start, just we freaked out.

Actually, that's what humans do, so it's natural. At least it settled when I got here.

Too lazy to read the whole topic but I read most of the first post. Although you said you didn't do anything for malicious intent, I'm still wondering if I've ever said anything incriminating (not about MFGG) to members and if someone has that information. Should I be worried about that?

Oh. I see. Well, then, I'll go with forgive and forget here. Now then, I will propose something else; if any of you guys were staff, and you had this chance, wouldn't you guys take it too? That little curiosity? Another human nature is to discover; be it right or not. It just means this is what DJY did, and I bet you quite a few of us would do it too. All these staffing powers comes with ALOT of crap guys, and who knows; maybe he did this so he would know who would be up to no good here or not; maybe, just maybe, there are good intentions. Who knows.

No one has any information anymore, and I seriously doubt there's anything for you to worry about. Especially since admins can't even view PMs anymore.

I'm not saying this issue didn't matter at all - there was indeed a reason for concern up until Yoshiman gave a reasonable explanation, which OF COURSE most people are spitefully rejecting now - but it sure matters a jolly sight less than a lot of people are saying it does, to say the least.

No one knows if any other staff have taken the opportunity or not. No one would know Yoshiman had taken the opportunity if he hadn't told people about it including Jas.

It's true. If what happened last night didn't happen, I wouldn't know ShadowMan also read PMs.

It's weird knowing they can admit this and half of MFGG is A-OK with it.

It's just because that other half PMs stuff about other members or something extra personal. But if it's that bad, why not use something more private? Me, I barely PM. So that's why I'm sticking up for DJY. But even if I did PM personally, I wouldn't be this drastic.

What im confused about is Yoshiman is still a mod. why?

A few reasons man but mainly: The admins are (understandably) afraid of repercussions from taking that status from him, it's a 'big' change. And sometimes those are hard to make here even in light of stunts like this.
