Okay, I am now beginning to become sick and tired of my current hosting provider, Hostsnake (the one that hosts my "fangame headquarters" website at this time). I'm beginning to come to the conclusion of how unstable their server is, as well as certain situations I've seen on their support forums. I'm at the point in which I may have to move the site AND forums to another provider.

So, can anyone tell me of a trust free website hosting provider that has no ads, AND has PHP Safe Mode OFF by default (for the forums area of my site)?

Any help would be appreciated on this front; thanks, everyone.

Use your own computer as the server if you want to leave it on all the time. http://httpd.apache.org/

Only snag -- I think I'd need a dedicated phone line for that possibility, if I remember correctly.

No. If you are using dial-up internet, get another internet before deciding to leave the server on all the time on your own computer. Don't use your own computer as the server if you have dial-up internet.

I'm assuming that you use free hosting? If that's the case try zymichost.com

On target; and thanks for the tip. smile.gif I'll investigate this soon.

I definitely want my site in full action once I get new fangame projects "officially announced". :P

*still grumbling that most free hosts have safe mode ON; mainly to prevent abuse on their servers*

EDIT: Did some investigating -- zymichost.com DOES have Safe Mode ON by default. sad.gif

Okay, more additional details, although it might not be -- much -- can be found at my fangame site HQ's forums -- specifically this post.

I'm still on the site host search as I write this.
