Well, I had an idea for a project, but that would require being able to make levels as advanced as the ones in Mario Kart 64.

You quit on making this game?! Too bad, the engine was pretty smooth, way better than my NSMK1 engine ohmy.gif . Why do you scrap it?

Take a look at the source for the engine, you'll see why, and I've been looking all over for custom tracks with no success. Also I wasn't feeling myself last night.

btw I set your game as the standards to beat so it's nice to know that you thought it was better

I could have made some custom tracks for you. I've made Mute City I and Green Hill III for NSMKDX (not on request, by the way).
Although they were made using ripped maps as templates, I am able to make up some tracks from scratch.

My Print Screen butten is busted, so I can't turn it into an image, but I have finished a track, Reznor's Fortress. Here is the GM-file I made it in. It's 960x800.
The tileset I used is in the GM-file aswell, so credits for the tileset can be found there.
I have to go to school in less than a half hour, so I'll make another one when I'm back.

The method I was using was I was drawing the floor with a sprite, so that would need to be one. It looks good though, better than the one that other guy made to help me. Thanks.

EDIT 2: I zipped all tracks I made so far (except Mute City I and Green Hill III)
EDIT 3: Included another track and the tileset I used, which includes the credits. Tracks were designed and made by me.

Track #1: Reznor's Fortress

Represents the fortresses found in Super Mario World. This one is the Vanilla Dome one, so dark water should be used to replace the green transparent. It's quite predictable that the backgrounds should be the same as the ones from Bowser's Castle.

Track #2: Alien Raceway

A track on an alien planet, said to be the home planet of Tatanga. The track is situated in an area away from civilisation and is covered in neon tiles. The track was built centuries ago and hasn't been used for ages until Tatanga decided to reopen it for the next Mario Kart GP.
Use Rainbow Road's background for this.
Ive made a circle of rings outside the track for a secret character, kinda the same way you unlock Fake Crash in the GBA version of CNK. There is a jump camouflaged between the yellow blocks, near the mushroom image.

Track #3: Amp's Battery

A giant engine powered by Amps (can be added to the track as obstacles or decoration, but not necissarily). The stage hangs above a pool of lava. The background is the same as Ghost Valley without the ghosts or the same as Rainbow Road (I didn't really think that through).

Track #4: Wart's Castle

The golden stronghold that belongs to the king of nightmares. In a dream world anything is possible, so why not have a giant golden castle? This track is just the tip of the iceberg.
Below the track is nothing more than the black abbys. The background can be either the one from Bowser's Castle or you could make a background using a SMB2 tileset with the tiles from Wart's Castle or something like that (there oughtta be a sheet on the main site somewhere)
