My beefs with MKWii

Don't worry, I think Mario Kart Wii is awesome. It's imaginative and really addicting, but there are some parts in the game that make me wanna tear out my brainstem, go into the nearest four-way intersection and skip rope with it.

• THERE'S NO ESCAPE!

Now that Mario Kart allows up to 12 players a race, the person in first place will go through a living hell. You get constantly barraged with blue shells, bullet bills, red shells, and lightning bolts. And just for ****s and giggles, you'll get inked by a blooper and fall into a ravine. Then once you respawn, you'll already find yourself in 8th place.

• Triple Red Shells need to go

The fact that red shells have the audacity to wait for you to come down a ramp and THEN hit you makes this item unnecessary.

• The Thundercloud sucks your balls through a straw

By the time you get this item, you're already in first place (ironically) and you'll try to back up and get 2nd place man with it, but that just wastes more time.

I've experienced the first one but I'm still usually in first still.

my only problem is when RED SHELLS COME AT YOU FROM THE ****ING SIDE

Yeah I mean the thunder cloud happens far too much in MKWii, but it's yet to affect my position.

Well, let's see.
The whole first place problem could be solved by trying to hang around in second or third. You don't want to be in first place if it's that dangerous, so make your move towards the end of the race.
I don't have MKWii yet, but this could possibly work. Just develop some kind of strategy.

actually even in 150cc you can gain enough lead where the items don't really affect your position

Being slow is harder than it sounds =[

Actually if you're first, bullet bills don't do anything to you.

ONLY THING that is bad when you're first is the blue shells, because everything else, like lightning and POW hits ALL players.

If you're second, the chance is higher that you get hit by triple red shells, because when you're first, the second gets only ONE red shell and in that case you have a banana or even a triple banana.
HEY, I just noticed, unlike MKDS, you can get triple bananas now when you're in first, so yea.


My conclusion after a month of MKWii is that MKWii looks like pure luck at first, but you can actually get that good so you win always, or at least most of the time.
I've made also the experience that no strategy in MKWii is better than just being first all the time and trying to get further ahead.

Mario Kart Wii is most definitely skill.

and bullet bills are easily dodge-able, how do you get hit by them? seriously
