In my case sleep has come to the point where I'm afraid of it. I can never, ever wake up in a decent time and end up sleeping for well over 12 hours if I'm not woken up. And if I am, it feels horribleeeeee

So here I am, my mind completely dead and wanting to throw in the towel, but I'm still sitting here rocking back and forth and reading books and other activities, because I'm too scared to sleep. :[

I have to stay up til 10 pm, that's my goal today ohoho!


By the way, where did "sleep is for the weak" originate; also, this is a fun read

I used to have the same problem.
Then I figured out how to simply wake up whenever I need to. Sorta.
Anyway, poor Salad. I would suggest going to sleep earlier, but that's probably not going to work in your situation.

I agree with you, those are really good solutions, but the best ones always seem to be the most obvious and therefore the hardest to incorporate. I'm too 'weak' to force myself to wake up or sleep when I start getting tired, and of course I end up regretting it later, but yeah, that's the problem, isn't it.


Incidentally, no matter how loud or horrifying an alarm clock could be, it would never make me wake up ... the only thing that did was the DS lite's tiny little thing. -weird- and now that doesn't work either lol :(

It's not really a fear of sleeping, it's fear that you're gonna wake up and go "****... that's not 8am"

I don't have any trouble waking up, but going to sleep is a nightmare, i somehow manage to live off an average of 3-4 hours sleep a day.

I've actually TAPED THE ALARM CLOCK to my ear before, one that you could hear from the other side of the house to no effect, but that was a long time ago :S

I love sleep, I used to hate it, now I love it. The problem is, if I'm tired and actually think "HMM, I'M TIRED! I WILL GO TO BED NOW!" I will end up laying in bed for about four hours before I actually fall asleep EVEN THOUGH I'M REALLY TIRED AND WANT TO SLEEP! Also, the ealier I go to bed, the later I wake up (No idea). Once I went to bed at eight-thirty and woke up at Four PM the next day... I have no idea how, but I felt miserable for the next three days.

I agree with the alarm clock bit, usually I set it so it'll wake my parents up and their screaming at me to "TURN THE STUPID THING OFF" wakes me up~

I go to sleep when I'm tired and wake up when I'm not
as a result my sleep patterns don't always match up with everyone else's schedules

when I try to force myself up with an alarm clock or something it only works the first 5 or so times, then my subconscious learns how to turn it off without disturbing my consciousness
for instance, my alarm clock is way the hell across the room from my bed, on top of my desk. when it goes off, I walk over to it and turn it off, walk back to bed and lay down, all without waking up.

I've had that exact problem last summer alarms have no effect on me either

I can't sleep longer than eight to eight and a half hours. I always wake up no matter after that time for some reason.
Going to bed is a different story. After about three to four days, I can get into a nice route of sleeping around the same time everyday.

ok so i pretty much pass out at 3 pm til 11 pm wonderful, I was thinking I could try going back to sleep except as I got out of the shower I noticed there was a damn spider

... on the towel

which is now on me

I bet my sister was proud of that scream, A+++ anime material >.>

Lame now I'm shaken up how do I sleep now?!
