I have a Windows 2000, and it can play mp3 files, but whenever I try to open a GM game with MP3 music, (like Hello's games) an "program error" window comes up that says:

CODE
(game).exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

Am I missing a .dll? Is the computer itself the problem?

Go on the main site and look in the miscelles(mispelled) section and find bass.dll(don't know what it does). I don't have Windows 2000 so i don't know so it may be your OS or it the way it is configured but i'm uncertain.

I got the bass.dll file and extracted it to the System folder. Then I went to RUN and typed this:

CODE
regsvr32 \windows\system32\bass.dll

But then it said:

CODE
\windows\system32\bass.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer was not found.

DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of \windows\system32\bass.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it.

The problem may be your computer.

If you can play MP3s on it WITHOUT THE GAME (like music tracks or something like that), then it's probably just a freak error.

If you can't, then it's probably your sound card or the operating system. I have no experience with 2000 so I can't say whether it can or can't play MP3s, but sound cards are likely to be succeptible to not playing certain sound media.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

It can play MP3s by itself. It only makes the problem more confusing.

Go on the main site and look in the miscelles(mispelled) section and find bass.dll(don't know what it does).

Bass.dll is a widely used extension for the BASS sound library. It's used by Winamp and is supported in Click products, and allows you to play modules, streams, and samples. (MP3's are streams and WAV's are samples.)

Generally, bass.dll is used by placing it in the same folder as the offending EXE and hoping that it works.

You should also place it in System32 (not System.) If you don't have a System32 then I guess use the regular system folder anyway.

I put the bass.dll file in the system32 folder and the same folder as the EXE, and it still didn't work. This is really getting old.
