I have a Windows 2000, and it can play mp3 files, but whenever I try to open a GM game with MP3 music, (like Hello's games) an "program error" window comes up that says:
| CODE | | (game).exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. |
Am I missing a .dll? Is the computer itself the problem? This post has been edited by blackcat12 on May 16 2008, 05:45 PM

I got the bass.dll file and extracted it to the System folder. Then I went to RUN and typed this:
| CODE | | regsvr32 \windows\system32\bass.dll |
But then it said:
| CODE | \windows\system32\bass.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer was not found.
DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of \windows\system32\bass.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it. |

| QUOTE (Zero Kirby @ May 17 2008, 12:04 AM) | The problem may be your computer.
If you can play MP3s on it WITHOUT THE GAME (like music tracks or something like that), then it's probably just a freak error.
If you can't, then it's probably your sound card or the operating system. I have no experience with 2000 so I can't say whether it can or can't play MP3s, but sound cards are likely to be succeptible to not playing certain sound media. |
It can play MP3s by itself. It only makes the problem more confusing.

I put the bass.dll file in the system32 folder and the same folder as the EXE, and it still didn't work. This is really getting old.
