Not to mention that it's missing one watere tile -- isn't there one that's a light blue? That's what I used in my first fangame project as well.

the different between that one and the one that Mario Fan ripped is that Mario Fan's is much more useful.

That depends entirely on what size tiles you use.

I'm sure some people use 8x8 tiles, somewhere in the world.

Both are good rips, nonetheless.

Black Squirrel is the only one.

Which is why I love these. EDIT: I mean I love these because everyone nowadays uses the 16*16 tileset and 8*8 is just too tiny to see what it is and it's a royal pain to put together when it's OBVIOUSLY better in 16*16.

Still, though, I personally doubt there's a good enough reason for a submission to be accepted if it's merely a duplicate (or incomplete duplicate) of another submission that's just in a different format, even if the different format is more user-friendly than the first submission's.

Can't speak for the staff, but that's the way I look at it.

Kinda too bad, since organization should play a role in whether it gets submitted as well.

Not such a big role as to allow the same materials to be submitted twice.

Webspace is valuable, and besides, re-organizing a sheet is really something anyone can do, without incredible effort.

Uh, guys, it's not about whether or not people use 8x8 tiles, it's a matter of how the graphics are stored.

SMB graphics are stored in 8x8 tiles. The levels aren't organised in blocks of 16. In fact I don't think there's a single NES game out there that does. Sure you could arrange them all into 16x16 tiles, but you'd have hundreds more than necessary and this sheet would be even less complete.

Anyway I would have thought it would be less useful in that state due to the fact not everything is even arranged into 16x16 tiles. Either way that entire game has been ripped by Polar Koala correctly so

Just for the record, I did know the graphics were stored in 8x8 tiles. I was just saying what I said on the assumption that most people who use GM and probably Clickteam products tend to use 16x16 stuff for their games, so they may often have to edit 8x8 tiles into 16x16.

I agree with you regardless, though. Using 8x8 tiles definitely does help eliminate redundancy.
