How are you sure that matter wasn't always here? The universe, as far as I can see, encompasses time. Time is part of the universe, so the universe stuck around for it. What was here since the beginning of time, then? The universe, naturally. Everything just repeats--you can call it spiritual if you want, but I just call it basic.

Exactly! In the end, countless theories of evolution are strived for based on the mentality that they cannot be disproven.

And unfortunately, if people look on the outside and just view their religion it almost screams to them that its just a made up explanation for that which is unknown.

The point of debate is to get opinions out there so they can be judged, weighed, and interpreted.

Just because you're on a side with less evidence gives you no evidence to claim there's something wrong.

I see we have a literalist. The whole "the great flood is true!" thing just completely negates that entire page for me. If you can't look at the Bible in the context it was meant to be looked in, don't look at it at all. These stories (and yes, they're just stories) were passed down through oral tradition before humans wrote them down. They're meant to teach lessons, not to act as some obscure evidence supporting a religious ideal that you've blown out of proportion.

ooh nice edit too, you make a fine example of the kinds of creationists that this guy describes. you refuse to acknowledge the evidence that you are wrong. you turn a blind eye to it, refuse to budge, and turn around and say "there's not enough evidence! evolution can't possibly be true" the next day.
