I CAN EASILY CHANGE THE GRAPHICS IN THIS GAME AND PROVE THAT ALL LABYRNTH REALLY DID WAS MAKE A SIMPLE PAINT JOB. ANYONE COULD HAVE DONE THIS, EVEN WITHOUT EDITING THE ACTUAL CODE. IF YOU WANT ME TO PROVE IT, I WILL.

This is the whole issue.

You still are not listening, THE SOURCE FROM THE BOOK DOES NOT HAVE A DATA STRUCTURE. ALL OF THE IMAGES AND SOUND ARE IN 1 FOLDER. MINE ARE CLEARLY SEPARATED INTO FOLDERS. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE CODE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

The books you buy for any type of programming are open source.
If you really want to get technical about copy write this whole site is seriously out of bounce with some of the sprites it has.
But who cares really?
The site is great and people here try and keep it this way.
But if you continue to blast out like this to people. You will see this type of retaliation anywheres online.

Let me give a little background info about me.
Then you can draw your conclusions from that instead of what im trying to learn.


Started as a gamer. Loved it.
Got into modding games. Such as the old Grand Theft Auto and several other games up to medal of Honor allied assault.
This is when things got more interesting. I got into doing mapping with radiant.
Modding C script for this game and even doing wall hacks and bypassing anti cheat scanners for this game.
From there i learned to hack games. Basically hacked anything i looked at.
Didnt stop there, got into reverse engineering also. Cracking/debugging and packet editing a little bit.
So currently my skills are in game hacking and debugging/reversing using Ollydbg and memory scanners. I have written numerous tutorials helping others learn to do what i have done. Even make releases as well.
93 tutorials written or video recorded & 39 trainers/hacks released. "Just whats on my personal site and some are one megagames.com and other sites below.

All of this has led me to want to write a game. So now i looked around and tested languages to see what i seem to pick up on an understand. This leads me to blitz.
I even own Darkbasic Pro. But currently do not do anything with this software.

So what im trying to say is. You never know who you are meeting online or know the persons knowledge or how they done something without asking.
Some may share, some may not. I do not see myself as ripping anything, since i take so much time and pride to show the work i do. I tend to teach people what i learned.
Now that this is in the open I hope I do not get a bunch of non cheating haters.
I am however good at what i do, not the best or elite by far. It takes work to be able to do what i do. Defeat DMA or CodeShifting, alter assembly/bytes of memory to make a program or game do what it want it to do. Reverse engineer applications/game clients to run dual/multi clients. Also crack applications, such a trail times for games from reflexive.com and Bigfish. Even messed with some Xbox modding and save game hacking.
How assembly code flows behind the scenes, is something no ones see's and is very interesting to me. So you can say i know a bit of assembly as well.
Of course i would have to, in order to alter it right?

And i am now trying to gain knowledge of game programming like i want.
All i want from you is the same respect everyone else gets in this site.
If you want any proof of what I say about my background of my online life, since you are very skeptical.
Visit any of these sites and look me up. I have no reason to lie on anything i say.
Im just a person who wants to get into something i have always wanted to do.
Maybe even you have wondered how people did hacks. Who knows, but people you meet can teach you things if you dont stomp on them.
If not, then maybe you wanted to do anti cheat systems for a game?
Well it is all the same field. How would you stop a hack if you didin't know how to make one? For me it was to do both.

Listen, dude.

I don't care about your life story. All I care about is what you do with what you want to do; to create games.

I seriously respect you for trying to learn code. I truly, truly do. I think it's great to see people reaching out of game making utilities and trying to play with the big leagues. It's just, I'd like to see something that didn't come out of a book.

You're not looking for an apology, so I won't give it to you. However, I want to encourage you to not give up, and create something original, completely original, not just something with a new paint job on it.

I'm just trying to say that this wasn't a good start, and pointed out why, and you guys were actually the ones who attacked me.

Wait, actually, you didn't really attack me, Cellincokaine did. Okay? I don't blame you for defending yourself, and I thank you, actually, for approaching this much more level-headed than I did and not going down the detrimental path me and Cellin did.

Just, next time, I want to see something really neat and original out of you, and I bet you can do it if you don't give up.

It's kinda funny to see a bunch of Pac-Men his transparent Yoshi's over and over and over with weird sounds and George the Volcano singing along the the Mega Man VII Opening Theme.

Way to completely be an a-hole even more.

And I didn't "attack" you first, it would be the other way around. If anything, I "finished" it about 7 times over now. So why don't you stop being a dill weed.

Reality no ones first game is very good. In fact reading any of the books i have on game programming makes this very clear. Your first game will not be much.
So yeah, i have allot to do.

FPS Creator is sick, I downloaded that + all of the offical expansion packs (and custom ones like this sweet haunted house pack) from some guys blog and made some sick levels. One level I made exactly my old high school... although I didn't "shoot the school up", I saved it from mindless storm troopers.
