i am making a 8-bit Mario game with game maker 7 and i am using wavs because i think midis sound really cheep cool.gif.
but when i die the music does not stop it keeps on playing then when the level restarts two of the same song is playing at the same time headslap.gif
it sounds horrible! can any one help me?
(if you need a video to know what i am talking about just ask)

Whoops,overseen that.Write GM instead of game maker.
Convert them to wma or MP3.WAVs are indicated as a sound,and sounds keep playing because there are multiple sond channels in GM.WHen you set the sound settings of the WAV to "Use multimedia player" it will work too.But I recoommend converting them.

ok for one never use wav's for your music. ever.

secondly i would think gamemaker could stop wav's that are playing on loop

Thatīs pretty much the same as background sound,only that you have no default parameters and it can play more filetypes.
