If you kids read the sexy pie chart bit you'd realise there are 6 colours. I want to reduce 2 of those colours.

Well okay actually I want to reduce 3 since it's always nice to encourage "one timers" to stay but that isn't a case of kicking people out that's just converting. Though it is fully possible to convert reds into blues or yellows too.

I'm still trying to figure out where I fit in on that chart. =P

My point of view:

MARIO FAN GAMES Galaxy is about FAN GAMES and about MARIO.

Do you like Mario? You can stay and are part of group "M".
Do you like Fangames? You can stay and are part of group "F".
Do you like neither of them? Why are you here in the first place? You're part of group "C".

However, members of Group C are welcome too as long as they don't think Mario Fangames Galaxy is only about the CCC which it is not.
You could compare this to a country.
Let's say America is full of Americans. (100% American)
Now Chinese come in. Americans like Chinese, alright they can stay. But when there are suddenly 60% Chinese and only 40% Americans, does that make America into China?
Probably it does, and that's why we want to cut down the number of members who're not interested in neither Mario nor Fangaming and especially those who're against these so MFGG stays MFGG and will not turn into NAMBAGG™.

I think a few of you are putting words in my mouth - I never said anything about kicking everyone out but fangamers.

But yeah MFGG is about fangaming. Amazing! I mean hell, if you want we could change the name to "Not about Mario but about garbage galaxy"

NAMBAGG™

If you kids read the sexy pie chart bit you'd realise there are 6 colours. I want to reduce 2 of those colours.

hahaha what

you are essentially using the change of rules to getting rid of those who do not want to contribute to the forums and revive the days of old mfgg

As I've said in my post above which you have probably ignored:
If you don't like Mario and don't like fangames, why are you fighting so much to stay (especially since nobody wants to kick you out! There'd be not need to fight.)

sounds like a plan, bearded one

though the rules haven't really changed and you need to replace "forums" with "MFGG" since the site is just as, if not more important.

Everyone not in red or grey contributes somehow

As I said before if you care about fangaming so much why don't you just delete all the boards except submit it and fangaming discussion.

Do you know why fangaming isn't the main topic of this board, it's because there is a site to do so, this place is a discussion board about site about fangaming, yes, but I checked myself the site where you can comment and review fangames, etc. You can do all the necessary communication on the site about the fangames, etc. I can understand that there is a fangaming discussion for those who want to talk about upcoming projects or ideas, but that gives it no reason for it to be mainly about fangaming. Why is there only one fangaming board but tons of other boards about things that barely have to do with fangaming? You are going to expect everyone to join the forums mainly for that one board?

What I'd like to see is these fixes of the casual system ( cutting the time of three months lower and the consequence of losing your ccc access because of one ban(unless it was something really really terrible)) and this unpositive behavior that people who don't come here to the DISCUSSION boards to talk mainly about fangames when they can easily do so on the MAIN site.

I hate to say it but I think Bacon makes a very valid point. A lot of other websites have the site as their main hub of "insert website content here", this one being Fangaming, but the forums are mainly for somewhere to talk and relax, it's still video game themed but I think the forums are a more open place and the focus on Fangaming shouldn't play as big a part.

Mario galaxy

Galaxy

Next thing you know we'll be known as "That one message board" if we don't attempt to fix the non-fangaming issue soon

I just don't see the big problem.

It's not like CCC access or access to any of the non-fangame boards are being restricted to those who are meeting some kind of fangame or art or programming quota. All that is required of ANYONE is courtesy, and a little common sense. I don't think that's at all unreasonable.

And contrary to Black Squirrel's "eliminate the red and gray", I don't think he or anyone else would have any qualms with members that don't fangame or draw or program or otherwise contribute, as long as they enjoy themselves in a respectful manner.

Actually I believe it's two months now, but I doubt that difference is meaningful to your argument.

Again it's the difference of a single forum out of many non-fangaming forums that exist on this board. Considering how soft the moderation has usually been, you've had to be acting real abrasive to actually lose your access.

When the penalty is reduced far enough, there's no longer any incentive for self-control.

What you, Uber n00ber, and the other people constantly grumbling about board policies never seem to remember, or perhaps are deliberately not saying because it essentially blows up this argument you're using right now, is:

We have a verbal warning system. Therefore slipping up "once, just ONCE" will not result in a ban, unless the mods are doing it wrong or unless it's a blatant/major offense in question. Black Squirrel said nothing about changing that back, so it's still in place.

If you've been banned before for just "slipping up" and feel you should have been given a verbal warning (assuming said ban was after the policy got put into place), then just tell an admin so. If that happened, chances are the mod that banned you wasn't moderating properly in that instance, and this ought to be brought to someone higher's attention. But if an offense was deliberate or major, and a verbal warning was clearly unneeded and too lenient, or if someone breaks a rule again in spite of having been given warnings, then it's perfectly fitting for that person to be excluded from the CCC for three months. They should have known better.

Additionally, it's not hard to stay unbanned. How do you think I haven't ever gotten banned, even in view of how I used to fly off the handle so often in the past on this site? I may not have had a lot of self-control back then, but I did have enough not to ignore the rules.

Also, was it even changed back to three months? Last time I checked it was two.

But really, three months is a long time, I can understand if you did something drastic like hack threats or duping, yeah, then banning the person for three months wouldn't be such a bad idea. But how often do you see that happen? Not a lot, so, banning someone for three months is kinda stupid to me.
