? No, I don't think that's what he's talking about. The community is of members, and they do like their art. So they contribute that way. He never said artists aren't allowed.

Umm, that's not what I said.

Ooooh, ah, whoops, I dunno how I got that switched! ohmy.gif Well, it's like my teachers say: When you're not active in something, you get bored. You get bored, then you'll cause trouble. That isn't really true here, but we can still heed that advice. And it wouldn't hurt to just try something, would it?

I'm going to put this into a real-world example from my local town and use that to interpret what BS is actually saying.

There is a church in the middle of town, it was built over a hundred years ago and generations of the same families have been coming to this church to worship. However this church is not a charter church, and so there is some flexibility in how this church operates. Over the course of 10-15 years, a large number of liberal migrants begin to frequent the church. They begin to show up in such large numbers that they become the church majority, and so they transform the services that the church actually provides. Now it's politically incorrect to talk about God and Jesus, and the church should be a venue to support homosexuality and other ideas that Christian churches generally frown upon (I am making no personal statement on whether this is right or wrong). The generations that have been participating in this church are now forced to alter their beliefs, or leave. In fact, they do leave.

The problem, from the perspective of the old families, is that by democratic process, the church has catered to the wishes of the new majority and lost the values that it was originally founded upon.

I assume BS's argument works in a similar way, in that he is defending the old values from eventually being lost by not catering to the wishes of members who are here for other reasons. I DON'T think he is saying that you should be treated badly or forced to leave (though if he does think that, I do not agree with it), but I think he is saying that even if your group is the majority, you should not be the group deciding what kind of board MFGG should be.

Though I read it, I'm not gonna quote RII's whole post.

Things like how Parakarry helps out around the site without being some super-de-duper artist or some super-de-duper programmer.

Very few even fall in the category since most people on this forum do something else. And either way, it doesn't matter because I'm only concentrating on those who do absolutely nothing for MFGG at except post garbage. The people who are causing others to leave and dragging down our reputation. The rest aren't broken.

You don't need to be a programmer or artist or webdesigner or whatever to be a welcome member on MFGG.
Just LOOKING at art and PLAYING fangames is enough contribution, because this is why art and fangames are made in the first place.

If you discuss about video games, I think it's also alright to be here.

But if you have no interest in neither Mario, nor other gaming and not even arts (which is what this board is about), then why did you join? Because the CCC/PPP is so awesome? And that's why the CCC should be hidden for public because people should actually join because they like video games, arts and fangaming and not because the CCC is so awesome.

All these charts, the whole respect thing, how you're thinking this is all gonna go perfectly, I dunno man, it's throwing me off and sending me bad vibes. Where on Earth did you even get statistics for this respect point system you invented, or is that just how you feel? Still, out of most members here I'd say you are one of the best to fulfill the position as an admin right now.

I conjured up most of it from my own mind

Everyone's opinion is different. Some vastly different, but it shouldn't be a huge concern what these things show.

And it's not really a respect thing since I have a lot more respect for Yoshiman for at least trying something new. But the new things he tried wasn't so hot on his admin reputation, if that makes sense.

Either way it was really just an attempt to make things a bit more interesting. Countless people have claimed they're going to make things better but haven't delivered. I don't want to be passed off as a generic admin that walked in and got kicked out.
