Seriously, I suck at GML. I need a good climbing engine or code.

...If it doesn't use the Pro edition.

Just set a variable on if the up or down arrow is pressed above a climbable object,disable the normal step event with the boolean variable check and make an else condition.Like that:

CODE

if climbing=0
{
//step event here
}
else
{
//climbing code
}

The climbing event would be keyboard checks for the arrow keys,and x/y position changing.Itīs easy.
