Ok, I am making this game; I got all the platforming elements down except for a couple things: the main one being slopes.
I have tried and tried but I always end up failing at making a good slope example thingy to use. It's probably one lurking around here that I missed (I think I looked good...).

Anyways, I need a slope example. I will give credit to you if I use it in my game.

Do you have the file?

1.What progrm do you use
2.If GM,look at ume
3.You could just code it like a standard solid object and move mario on collision 1 pixel up.That means y-=1.

I use GM 7.0 (a 6.1/6.0 example is ok) and I looked at the UME and put the code in but for some reason it wouldn't work, Mario would just get stuck in the slope and not move...And coding it like a standard solid obj. and moving mario 1 pixel up doesn't work either.

I'm not sure why I never thought about the 1 pixel after colliding with a slope object before...

Thatīs to prevent Mario getting stuck in the slope, cause he doesnīt move up the slope manually,so we just let the engine think that his hspeed is neutral and always he gets too far into the slope(thatīd be moving up the solpe)we move him one pixel above. And since precise collision checking is activated,we have a nice angeled collision.:D

I'd rather set the Y velocity equal to the X velocity of the player once you hit a 45 degrees unsolid slope object, a set a bootleg override of detecting if the player is on the ground, allowing ability to jump while seemingly in midair.

jeez im hot.

Hmm....wouldnīt setting y equal to x just result in having the new position relative to position 0,0?And the jumping should still work since precise collision checking is activated and the slope object counts as solid for Marioīs engine,so he could detect it easily.
(Okay, since you said that you donīt use GM there may be differences)

I pretty much made my own game maker in java.

So at the same time it's different, yet the same.

But better logic and ability to do anything easily and fast.

Especially if I port it over to use hardware accelerated graphics.
