This is a 2-D Mario platformer with the base as the orignal SMB3 engine made by djrellik and pwyskowski, with a few elements from EDGE's such as slopes, and flipiberke's block train engine.

So I decided to continue this, alot of things fixed, though I still have alot to add/fix such as making all the rainbow sprites for invincibility since my GM 5.3 isn't registered. I added a few things from the last demo if anyone remembers it or has played it on the main site.

The demo includes 3 complete worlds. Most of the levels are just temporary, when I finish the engine most likely they will all change.

In Game Controls:

Left: Left Arrow Key
Right: Right Arrow Key
Jump: Shift
Duck: Down Key
Run/Pick up Shells/Shoot fire balls: Ctrl
Hide powerup box: Space
Pause: End
Use Powerups: 1-8

Map Controls:

Left: Left Key
Right: Right Key
Up: Up Key
Down: Down Key
Enter Room: Enter
Pause: End
Menu: Shift

NOTE:*** Do not keep the menu open when loading a level, I will fix this in the next version hopefully. You will freeze. Suggested to save after completeing every level.

Being able to see how much you have of everything while you're playing is very distracting.

Unfortunately, I don't have WinRAR so I can't play it right now.

However, I will say that it looks very generic, so I'm probably not missing out on anything anyway.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!

17.7 MEGABYTES?!?

Goddamn, man, that's a big file! Even if you're using MP3s, jeez! And it's only a demo! At least have a 56k warning for the poor people who don't have a good internet connection!

And it's not even a Game Maker 7 file, and even then, those shouldn't get that big.

How did the file get so big?

Lol, I think its because of all the sprites and stuff, the list is actually quite very long, including the fact I use MP3s. I tried deleting all the files I don't need and it only went down 1 MB. If I took out the MP3s it would be around 10 mB.

Still, that's quite a hefty game.

Anyway, I played it, and unfortunately, it does have a few bad glitches.

- I cannot hit blocks while moving.

- After landing from flight, I got stuck and had to quit the game, this is a big problem

- Enemies are moving even when they're far off-screen

The level design is also a bit unimaginative as well, but I only made it to the first level before I got stuck from trying to fly.

And because this is a BIG filesize, fixing these problems will help, since a poor game with a huge filesize is highly disappointing.

Taking out MP3s would help, because a 10 MB game is much more managable than 18 MB. It's a faster download and a few games on the Main Site do reach 8 megs, so two more MB isn't really going to be much of a problem.

All in all, this just needs some work.

One question -- in the case of Game Maker -- is there a "workspace" to design levels? Because if there is, I'd highly recommend putting those top screen counters off the playfield. They'd still be there, but it wouldn't be a distraction to us.

That's my only concern for now.

@MC:Yes there is,but itīs called room editor.Actually you can turn it off by pressing space.

Looks interesting.Though the filesize would be the biggest problem with 6KBps......oh,and the mapscreen reminds me of SMBX.Actually the whole engine,at least what I saw from the screens, looks alot like SMBX.

Thank you, I have found the racoon getting stuck glitch before but it happened when I flapped the tail but I seemed to have fixed that one, by any chance did you get stuck after taking flight and hitting a block?

Also the enemies don't move if they are that far off the map, only if you are at their distance.

Because that what it is xD. But I m changing the name, SMBX was Super Mario Bros (Insert Number Here), but some people go with 10.

Okay, I'm not trying to argue. It's just that SMB games get boring since MFGG has so many. But, you're right, this is original as far as powerups. So I have a name. Super Mario: PowerUP!
