imo get and boot a live OS to do your repairs. trying to uninfect an infected system while using that very system in its infected state is, more often than not, futile.

well can't he start by removing the registry key so that he can start without having it running?

I'm not sure if the virus has protection against that (it'd make sense) but there should be a way around it shouldn't there

That whole thing was a very odd situation, the fangamer that collapsed under the pressure to make his game when the world has its eye on him...

Use HijackThis, track down all malicious processes, fix your registry keys accordingly if you know how; and if you don't, just save art and **** you made, and reboot the thing
