Many of the enemy names are made up ("pure conjecture") and not all of them are labeled so. The enemy isn't even metallic, as the article says. I saw in a player's guide for SMS and the bug is called a Klamber.

It must not have been the official Nintendo one, because it calls them Scuttle Bugs.
