I don't think she intended to leave the baby with the small child. If you recall, the article said she left the child in a chair of some sort, probably to keep something like this from happening while she changed the diaper of the infant.

I see. But what bothers me is that if she does come positive with some mental impairment, wouldn't it have been noticed prior to this event since (if) it caused her to do something so drastic?

Then again, nothing says a mental disease can't be latent. :/
