So, I've got a nice icon file, it's 32x32, and should work in game maker. But it doesn't. game maker says i must be 32x32, single icons. What does that mean?

It should have the extension .ico in order to be used as an icon. There are various free applications that can be downloaded to convert ordinary image files into them.

It's a .ico file that's 32x32, but it still isn't working?

Hmm, I don't know what could be the problem, then. The GM Help file just seems to say that only those two conditions must be met.

I guess just double-check to make sure you were in fact trying to load the .ico (maybe it's possible you were trying to load the non-.ico file you may have had before conversion? I don't know), and double-check to make sure the file is 32x32 (check the ToolTip by hovering your mouse over the file if you have XP).

I just checked MS Paint, and I don't know if you have a different version from the one I have or not, but I sure can't see a way to save it as .ico.

I checked the Help File, so if he has the Standard MSPaint, he probably saved it as a *.ico.bmp or Something like That. <.< That would be a "Corrupted" ICO File.

Yes, I made a GIF file, copied it, then renamed it as ico. That one was the original.

That would be a FALSE Ico File. MSPaint Saving doesn't have a *.* where you type in the name of the File WITH the extension and it saves it as that type, that won't work correctly. Like the error where Game Maker cant open it.
