Didn't anybody look at the 3 Female Mario sprites in Gorsal's sheet and think... she needs more poses? ohmy.gif

Well someone DID! wink.gif

I edited from his 8-bit sprites, and made a few custom poses! cool2.gif
I started work on my customs before I found his 8-bit sheet, so thats why there are two front standing poses!

I made them for a player skin for the fangame Mushroom Kingdom Fusion! Since the player sprites are external in this game as long as the sprites fit the canvas you can play whoever you want! laugh.gif
This also explains why there is a Megaman & Spartan Suit. tongue.gif

She animates pretty well, and as soon as I finish the Hammer and Tanooki suits I'll post a video of her in action in the game! ph34r.gif


Edit: At your fludd sprites, I think the only thing missing would be some water squirts, include some multi directional water for use with it, I know some people may want to use their own, but its nice to have some in the same style and fitted properly for it!

I haven't highrezed all your nes style sprites yet as I havn't got use for all of them yet in the skinmod, but once the suits are done, I'll do those as well! ph34r.gif

If I could get more poses for it I was hoping to do the P Balloon as a Racoon suit replacement (can't code in new powerup, not my game), but movement poses to go along with existing ones in puffed up style would be great! biggrin.gif

I'll try and work on that but I'm not good enough to make customs that aren't edits yet. sad.gif

Well, this is the 1st update of 2009. All we need now is Luigi. Luigis#1 should be finishing Super Luigi by now. I think...

And... BlueGriffin23, I'd really like to have your sprites on the sheet, but the only ones in are the powerups. The Mario Bros. sprites you made were only one pose, and didn't help much. You still can make the powerups for Luigi once he's done, though. I also made the pose you requested.

Let me ask you something. Whenever I get enough motivation, I am going back to make my SMA4 styled playable Peach & Toad (not part of the revised thing you're doing) So can you answer these questions so I can work on them more easily:

- What are some good ways to make poses faster?
- For my Peach, how did you sprite the long hair? (Refering to your SMB3 styled girl you made in your SMB3 sheet on the main site)

the fastest ways can be:

1-Chop the sprites into pieces and assembling them. This is the method I use; it's slightly slower than the other two, but the result is top-quality. By making several pieces of the character, you'll end up reusing some graphics, saving you time. Only, don't make a LOT of divisions: 3 pieces (head, body, legs) are enough. If you divide the sprite into several parts, you'll end up confused and you'll take more time reassembling them.
2-Edit the original sprites to get the pose you want. This one is a little faster, but since you're using the same sprite, you don't have enough freedom to create fluid poses. I use this method when the pose is similar (example: the 3rd walking frame and jumping).
3-Speed painting. Don't do it, though. The sprites come out ugly as hell.

About the hair, I just sprited some kind of black blob behind her head and added a highlight. Her hair was easy, since it doesn't curl/isn't colored differently. However, Peach has (strangely) curly hair and is blonde, which makes it difficult. You'll need to use some inner anti-aliasing and make some curves on her hair. Don't forget to check her artworks: that helps a lot. Use the SMB2 sprites as a reference, too. If you have troubles making her hair, just make a yellow blob first and paste it behind peach's head. If it animates well, then add the spikes and shading. Works every time.

I know there were all just one pose but for the most part i meant them to be an alternate pallete...
I do understand though that some could be turned into full fledged sheets...i'll do them up if you'll add them though...

also...yay for this not being dead

Not much progress on Maria I'm afraid, getting the Shell on in all the poses for the Hammer suit is prooving to be a pain on some of them, slow progress.

In an upside, I've been reading up on plenty of tutorials, and am teaching myself the Sonic 3 spriting style also (see sig for that), hopefully I'll be able to finich her off no trouble with some more experience and Tutorial ****ing! XD

something i noticed while recoloring is that my sprites do not have the same pallette as the originals you did gorsal...i'm sorry...but just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to fix it

also I noticed you didn't do the throwing pose for every powerup
