I have a Dell Latitude LS, a really old computer. Pentium III, designed for Win98, running WinXP. It was working perfectly fine a while back. Then I got problems.

1. The laptop wont turn on unless its plugged into the wall. And it has batteries.

2. It freezes. Heres the catch. ONLY WHEN ITS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. Otherwise, it won't freeze. Sometimes it can view pages fine, the MFGG Messageboards for instance. It only froze once here. Its things like viewing lots of images at TSR or on the main site that freezes it. I defrag it every day, and delete the Temp files regularly. Its got 1.33 GB free space on the hd, but its got a 5 GB hd. Windows XP is taking 3 GB and other junk takes the remaing used space.

It was working just as good as my 3 year old Sony VAIO, until now. Help?

I've heard from reliable sources(my dad)that Defraging you Computer multiple Times a month can fry it. I'd reccomend only Defraging it at the start of each month.

I don't think so. The laptop runs fine, until you use the internet. Heck, It runs GM7 faster than my VAIO!

the only way i could see this happening was if:

2. you have a solid-state drive
