Super Hammer Bros., Entry for the mini-game competition.

Yeah, this was my entry for the mini-game competition.

It's pretty basic, just defeat anything that gets in your way, collect coins for points, and try to survive for as long as possible. When you finally lose, you can submit your score online.

It's probably pretty difficult for a lot of people going in, since I have received some messages about it being hard, but just give it a bit and you'll figure it out. If you get hit by an enemy, the best thing to do is to press the jump button repeatedly when stunned, so when you come out of it, you'll leap out of the way of everything around you. When you're first jumping, you're unable to get hurt for a brief period by things on the ground. Enemies also get harder to kill over time, goombas speed up, lakitus drop bigger spiked balls, etc. The longer you keep going for, the more points you score for each enemy you defeat.

The ZIP comes with both the normal windowed version, and a full-screen version of the game. If you want to close the full-screen game, just press ALT+F4. Controls are customizable, so I don't need to explain that really. Have fun!

Looks pretty sweet, but I'll have to download it later, unfortunately.

You're right that is extremly hard when you start playing it. I died with like 2000 points ~.~ but the next time I got 27,000 so yeah you do get better the more you play. The concept is easy to master but timing the throws right is REALLY hard. Great job though everything works flawlessly! =)

Oh yes, one suggestion. If you get hit by a piranha on the left side in the right corner, you´ll get stuck in there.I tried pressing the jump button, but I kept stucking in there. It´s a pain if you die and only 70000 points more to beat Hau.

Because if so, it should be in the released section.

You should be able to hold down to be able to throw the hammers lower. Just an idea, I really enjoy the game, and it is really awesome, just hitting the Goombas can be very difficult sometimes when you're dodging everything.

If you hold the Throw-Button down, then you throw lower.

Very fun game, it almost seems like mugen in a way. one of the few minigames i actually wanted to replay(cuz of online scores )

But sometimes if you're right next to a Goomba and do that, it goes over them, or it hits them once.

Oh, and maybe when you're strafing, maybe you could press left or right twice to turn around (like in SSBB with the firecracker launcher).

Fun game, the online score is a good way to keep people playing.

Wow, that was fun! I was so addicted to it ;_;

When me and simple hi-score minigames mix, it's like crack and cocaine and heroine and beer and all those other horrible nicotine crap put together. I can't get enough x_x

Just wish it didn't reset the controls every time you die...

In all seriousness and honesty to my last post, I actually found a very big glitch.

If you pause the game and leave it still for at least 5 minutes, when you return, you will find that many enemies have appeared, and you are invincible and can't jump on goombas to kill them. If you just randomly spam short ranged hammers, you will find that since the multiplier for score is very high, you will notice your score sky rocketing. Eventually, your invincibility will die out.

I'm assuming this has something to do with the fact that no code was created for when the game was paused, so please fix that before other people cheat

And yes, this explains why I have a score of like 30Million.

Oh, this game is too good, man! But one question -- in terms of the music heard in the gameplay, what game is that from, by any chance?

Sounds like it might have come from an official Kirby game.

your right, this glitch is game-breaking for the online score part. but im sure a simple fix will do.

because all you have do is pause, wait 5 minutes, spam hammers, repeat.

Let's have all try to get the highest score using this glitch! LAWL!

That's actually really simple to fix, and just because you said that Soiyeruda, I'm gonna wipe the highscores.

I don't really see why you feel the need to have a separate EXE for full-screen, that just doubles the file size for no reason. Why not include an in-game feature to swap between full and windowed?
