I think it's a Photobucket problem, since I use Internet Explorer and Photobucket, and lots of my images seem to not work and Photobucket.com is kinda messed up.

here's how images work on webpages
<img src="url-goes-here" alt="text describing the image in case it doesn't load etc." />
when you use the [-img-] tag on IPB, it does
<img src="url-here" alt="user posted image" />

which is what you see if the image at "url-here" doesn't load. it's like internet explorer's Red X.

imo the red x is more useful since it remains a link

sometimes if firefox can't load an image, it doesn't even go so far as leave some sort of hyperlink if the image had one

or enable the thing that leaves placeholder images. it's an option in firefox
