The technology is kind of old news, and it's been in the development stages for a while, but I felt like posting this awesome video.

I know I should take things like this with a grain of salt, but this is just awesome. I'm personally getting sick of paying so much for gas. I like to travel and explore new local areas, and it shouldn't have to be something you pay for, just to move somewhere in a vehicle. And it's not just me, pretty much ALL industries are suffering. It costs more to ship food and products, and so the cost of food goes up. It costs the post office a lot more to ship basic mail. Even electric generators that run on gasoline are going to suffer. Everyone is suffering because of high gas prices. Except of course, overly rich people and Big Oil, which is making an outrageous profit while the rest of the nation suffers in one way or another.

Give it 20 more years of the same and we could probably see the beginnings of a Mad Max atmosphere.

As for the video, scientifically, I know that you CAN turn water into a HHO gas mixture, and when that is put to a flame, it releases energy and turns back into water. Do you think this video is convincing? I heard a few comments giving complaints, but it seems pretty safe to me. I'd be willing to make adjustments to my existing car just to boost the milage and make it at least haflway water-based.

No it doesn't...I can go to a stream and fill up on water for free.

On a 100 mile trip, he only used 4 oz of water.

For some reason I really don't believe that.
My mother buys distilled water at the store, and she says it costs from $.89 to $1.25 for a gallon.

I think it's obvious that the idea will be killed because it might ruin the whole gas business.

Thank Big Oil for that, they probably tried their hardest to snuff it out and it worked.

Not that there aren't any hybrid cars right now though that use similar technology.

There's more to this story than what's being presented. You can't input only water into the equation and expect to get back both water AND energy, because that would violate the conservation laws.

He's right. Humans aren't going to use water if this new engine doesn't output water vapor. Water is our most valuable resource, without it, life is literaly impossible

I like this idea. I hope it works t some time in the future! Especially with gas getting sooo expensive.

I wouldn't mind adding this to a regular gas engine and getting a boost.

Anyway, here's the manufacturer's site.
http://hytechapps.com

They mention there are a few scam sites, like http://www.runyourcaronwater.com, that are trying to impersonate them and make money off of unsuspecting people, but this place is the genuine article.

Here is the part of their site where they show all the news coverage they got.
http://hytechapps.com/company/press

Though this part seems a little fishy, they use all the same clips. On both stations, it even shows the same clip of the guy named Craig Patrick reporting about the fuel, with the EXACT SAME CLIP. Keep in mind that one is CNN, and another is a local FOX. It just seems fishy. Though maybe there's something in the broadcast world I'm not aware of related to sharing video clips.

Regardless, I'm REALLY hoping this site isn't a scam. Their site and stature pretty much seem great. I wouldn't mind paying what I pay for gas currently if I could get a big boost in milage like this. Then in effect, the overall price goes down if the life lasts longer.

yeah, like RII said, you CAN split water into hydrogen and oxygen (even with something as weak as a 9V battery)... of course the law of thermodynamics ensures you get less useful energy out of the reaction than you put into the water to split it, so

Oh, except for the fact that, you know, water powered engines have a high risk of EXPLODING AND KILLING EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE
