To fullfil the requirements for a second CFP, there are still THREE levels and FOUR powerups needed!!
But at least I see that this is going somewhere! You have today, tomorrow, Saturday and the whole Sunday, that's not much, but I think someone can come up with three levels and four power-ups, right?

Boss's ultra super laser attack is all done. Just have to make the boss killable, add some explosion particles, and add a scrolling background.

The finished boss will be ready on Saturday. If Pikaboo's update isn't posted by then, I will post the boss engine as v0_2_11.

I think I finished the bosses crumbling animation. I personally don't really like it that much, so I would be very grateful If someone could touch it up a little (Only the bosses crumbling animation)

Potential Powerup: Makes the base turn into this and shoots the balls so fast it can destroy more than two or three bricks.

OK everyone!
Some of you might already have noticed, and those who have not: I'll be gone for the next 10 days, unfortunately that also means that I'm not here to conclude the Warm-Up on Sunday!

Luckily, DEX will take the main lead until I'm back!
Whatever he says about the CFP#2 is what you will do (assumed of course, that you still want a second CFP!)
This includes a BRAINSTORMING TOPIC that will be started on MONDAY, IF we think that the CFP can actually go somewhere which solely depends on the turnout of THIS WARMUP!

I really hope you [the members] do not disappoint the ones who believe in you. There are 3 levels and 4 power-ups to be done! Only to be implemented in the engine! Ideas can be found by looking back through this topic! (xn still has the engine though, so someone can probably design the last three levels on a drawing program to be implemented later)

However I think this can be done, judging by the good effort you've done in the beginning and now in the end too!

Good luck! I hope I'll see the second CFP started when I come back! wink.gif

You might want to be gone longer than that, Guinea -- as soon as you get back I'm hitting you with a huge list of grievances over some of your engine design choices. Particularly the one that trapped the ball halfway up the screen and forced a restart. mad.gif

Glukom, I'm declining your animation, primarily because it means additional work for me in prn_brick_mobile's draw event; also because I was expecting you to rotate the brick 1/16th a turn each frame; but PRIMARILY because it means additional work for me in prn_brick_mobile's draw event. I used up all my remaining time on the trapped-ball-bugfix. Sorry.
if anyone would like to implement it for me: in draw event, if status==3, then draw spr_attackbrick, else draw object's sprite. one minute to implement, two hours to debug...

In other news, the boss is done and Pikaboo's engine is MIA. Attached v0_2_11.

Don't forget to move rm_boss to the end of the room list.

Remember guys, we're aiming for speed, not quality.

I'll get started.

And the boss counts as a level, fyi.

I've got dibs on the engine till I'm done tomorrow. I finished with the levels, and I've added a split bat powerup that Pikaboo suggested, along with a indestructablock. Please be patient till tomorrow, maybe sometime in the afternoon, K? (Note my setting is gmt -5 hours)

Okay guys, with myself in the lead, I'll be checking this topic more often, as this ends Sunday.

We need to have at least something interesting finished to prove that we can start a new CFP.

What remains now is this:

-If the game is nearly complete but doesn't completely hold true to the deadline, what we have once the deadline comes is acceptable and can prove that we, MFGG, can work as a team on the 2nd CFP.

My final question is this, MFGG:

Do you want a new CFP? Are you willing to help? Will you not back out when we truly need you? The CFP trusts in it's helpers and without the helpers there will not be a CFP. So MFGG, it's up to you...are you willing to stay true to the CFP2?

ONE DAY REMAINS

Here are our options-

Option 1:
You guys can debug the engine and get it working perfectly, and we can call it complete and move on with the new CFP. What we have done at the moment proves we have members willing to help and work, and I'm sure a CFP board that is separate and more organized than the last one would also help.

Option 2:
We can call it quits. You guys can either stay with this or give up. We gave up last time- we need the motivation to not quit this time.

Option 3: We complete the engine and add a few more things, make it an executable file and release it as the CFP warmup game, proving to BS that we can work together.

Option 4: Options 1 and 3 basically combined, except without adding new things to the engine.
