Oboro Muramasa Youtouden ("The Hazy Legend of Muramasa's Magical Sword")

Release date:
Japan 2008
North America ????
Europe ????

Although not much information has been given yet, it seems like a worthwhile game. Brought to you by the creators of Odin Sphere, it appears to have similar game play and graphics. If you liked Odin Sphere, this may be a game you would like to check out.

Fragile: Sayonara Tsuki no Haikyo ("Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon")

Release date:
Japan 2008
North America ????
Europe ????

"Fragile is set in a post-apocalyptic near future world that has lost its light and is covered in a dense fog. Almost all the world's population has vanished, and the cities have been left abandoned. The game places the player in the shoes of Seto, a young boy." This game is being developed by Namco Bandai, which from my own personal experience, is known to give gamers some worthwhile games. Despite being a post-apocalyptic game, with ghosts and monsters, it is NOT a horror-survival type game and is intended to be a human drama type game.

Arc Rise Fantasia

Release date:
Japan ????
North America ????
Europe ????

Being developed by the same team that gave us both Luminous Arc games as well as World Destruction. A plot summary is available on the Wikipedia page. It's a turn based RPG, with three character parties, most likely as a tribute to the old RPGs that all used turn based strategy. The graphics are top notch for the Wii and it's definitely appealing visually. The game was only recently announced and has very little information as of yet.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Release date:
Japan June 26, 2008
North America Late 2008
Europe ????

Just as the name says, it's the sequel to the popular GCN RPG, Tales of Symphonia. It takes place a couple of years after the first game, with many changes to the world. Lloyd is the new leader of the Church of Martel and for some reason, has his own army. He is indirectly responsible for a tragedy at Palmacosta, leading in the deaths of many people, including the parents of the protagonist, Emil Castagnier. The game follows Emil as he searches for Lloyd to avenge the deaths of his parents. Along his journey, he meets several characters from the original game and they even join the party for brief periods of time.

Super Paper Mario

Release date:
Japan April 19, 2007
North America April 9, 2007
Europe September 14, 2007

Yes, Super Paper Mario. I don't really feel I need to explain this one... so I won't. If anything, the rest of you know this far better than I do.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors

Release date:
Japan July 12, 2007
North America February 19, 2008
Europe May 9, 2008

I'm not too familiar with this game but I know it's a spinoff title of the Dragon Quest series and it was published by Square Enix. It has a first person view and it makes use of the wiimote to take on monsters with your mighty sword. You move along a fixed path and it's your job to slash and stab enemies to victory, similar to Time Crisis.

I may update this later on, but I'd like to point out a few RPGs that some of you may want to check out. (and keep a list of some games I need to check out myself.)

I like this idea. I tend to like RPG's a lot, so this'll be a good reference if I ever want to get one.

Anyway, SPM is really awesome.

And I never finished ToS because my guys were severely underleveled, and I couldn't beat this one boss.
Though I may pick it up again sooner or later.

Super Paper Mario is amazing.

And drastically overrated. The story and presentation is a travesty -- the game is a joke the entire way through, and on that count I despise it.

However, the gameplay was certainly much better than everything else about it, and its complete lack of any sort of writing quality was very entertaining in a select few situations (primarily the entire Nerr2Babe scenario.)

I could only wish that it held the situational charm of the original Paper Mario, which had already declined in Thousand Year Door, as opposed to its constant inane banter.

Oh, and no O'Chunks. I can't see how anybody could possibly have tolerated O'Chunks for any more than about three seconds.

EDIT: You also forgot Radiant Dawn and that Crystal Chronicles game

And drastically overrated.

Hardly.

Even though it's still a solid game I actually think the original Paper Mario is the weak link in the series from all perspectives, writing, gameplay and pretty much everything else but thats only because The Thousand Year Door is so damn good it pretty much pushes the last game right into inferiority. I've replayed TYD over five times now, I downloaded PM off the VC months ago (bought it once before though years ago) and I'm having trouble working up the motivation to finish it.

And if nonthing else, If I didn't find SPM as ridiculously fun as it was (despite the fact that it was disturbingly easy) I would have stuck through it just for the writing.

Just an incredibly wonderful and bizzare game with humor to match.

And no, I didn't have any problems tolerating O'Chunks at all.
