Paintshop Pro 6.
I only use the GM sprite editor to view animations because that's easier than with Animation Shop.

It seems like the Paint+GM Image Editor Combo is popular. I use it too, but I also use GIMP for choosing a Pallette sometimes. I also use GIMP for Anti-Aliasing sometimes. Then again, GM has that Function(sorta), only it's called "Smooth Edges".

if i need to do sprites it will most likely be done in MMF2's animation editor.

But don't you still have to select your said sprites from the sheets at the main site prior to implementing them in the game. Because that's what I do (as in, download the sheets, organize them in my main image editor -- then save the new sheet to use in bringing the materials in your game). tongue.gif

I'm going to be different. GIMP. GIMP, although, sometimes MSPaint, and never the GM editor.

Paint, as it's easy to access. If I need to [cheaply] rotate anything I use Paint.Net.

Mspaint because it's simple to work, and easy to toy around in. Graphics gale and other programs are just to complicated for me.

I generally just use DOS and don't need to make sprites, but when I do, it is usually Game Maker and the built-in editor is usually sufficient. If I need more complicated stuff I will use MS Paint + ImageMagick.

KolourPaint or GIMP.

KolourPaint, by the way, is like a freedomware Linux version of MS Paint, but it has better support for PNG images, it can use transparency and has effects.
