How do you set up a Maple Story Private Server?

I'm fairly certain that there are no MapleStory server emulators at the moment, leaving a pirate of the official server code as the only choice, and that would be illegal. That said, you would need to obtain the server code, which is something best discussed elsewhere. After obtaining the server software it shouldn't be entirely difficult to figure out how to run it with the proper environment for connections. Why on Earth you would want to host a MapleStory server in the first place is beyond me.
