this engine allows you to play emulated music in gamemaker, using winamp plugins

it's easily adapted into playing many different types of music so enjoy but when playing NSF files keep in mind track navigation is not supported, to combat this issue I have included a tool called "NSF Track Ripper" and it turns one NSF file containing many tracks into many NSF files containing one track, so you can just load the tracks individualy

(press shift and control to navigate the example)

the actual code for playing songs is in the creation codes of the rooms

Haha, in your face ****** at GMC that said NSF playing was impossible!

Awesome stuff, I'm going to use this if you don't mind. biggrin.gif

EDIT: For some reason playing GutsMan's stage music makes it not play properly. The main part of the music doesn't play and it sounds bad. What's going on?

Actually all of the MegaMan tracks screw up at some point. :/

He said in the 1st post that it used Winamp plugins, probably made by other people.

it's because NSF Track Ripper is beta software, and it doesn't split the NSFs perfectly, however if you use the "in_notsofatso(sp?)" plugin for winamp and open unsplit NSFs you'll get an additional dialog to navigate tracks, but it only works for listening to music but Gamemaker cannot control what is playing so its not practical for an actaul game

check the game information for the credits, in a nutshell I didn't make the .dll but the way the person who did make it made his example BGM was chosen with dialog boxes, I just made a way to make it load without the dialog so the game knows what it's gonna play at runtime

sorry for the double post but would anybody here be interested in me editing my engine to include N64 (USF files) and/or NDS (2SF files) as examples

I don't think it's the track ripper, because in an NSF player it sounds absolutely perfect.

then it has to be the input plugin, just download a different one and it'll work fine, I only tested the Zelda NSFs so I have no clue if other games work with it (check zophar, they have a buttload of NSF plugins) cool.gif
