The only problem is, when you've edited a gif it deletes any repeated frames, and it goes at 10fps all the time. But you can choose any background colour you want to be transparent. --------------------

Works on every Windows (I think), requires little to nothing to run, loads up as fast as MSPaint, extremely small, no installing, etc. Transparency settings are in the Image tab. There are some other filetypes that handle transparency, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Indeed. I like GIMP; it's much like the Linux version of Photoshop. Like Linux is the Linux version of Windows. Linux is better than Windows, yet $100-500 cheaper, and GIMP is not as good as photoshop, yet $650 cheaper.
