Windows 95 - C:\WIN\system32
Windows 98 - C:\WIN98\system32
Windows 2000 - C:\WINNT\system32
Windows XP - C:\Windows\system32
Windows ****sta Vista - C:\Windows\system32

And there's an easier way. Change it to .scr, then double-click. It should load up the screensaver list with that one set as the current.

I made a screen saver with game maker once..
to make it correct I'll tell the codes I used for it...:

for the screen saver object:

create:
global.start_x=mouse_x
global.start_y=mouse_y

create an object called"mouse_sencer"
with mouse_sencer's step event

if mouse_x>global.start_x
{
game_end()
}
else
if mouse_x<global.start_x
{
game_end()
}
else
if mouse_y>global.start_y
{
game_end()
}
else
if mouse_y<global.start_y
{
game_end()
}

for mouse_sencer's key press any key event:
game_end()

then create an exe of you game... rename the .exe to .scr and place it in:
harddrivename/WINDOWS/system32
eg
c:/WINDOWS/system32

then goto your screen saver settings (start, control panel, Apperence & Themes, choose a screen saver, and find your file name in the list of savers...

then click test or wat ever it says

and there you go... a screen saver

I believe it's sensor, not sencer. [/off topic]

anyway, that code is long :V
here's a shorter version of it:
objMouseSensor Create Event
start_x = mouse_x;
start_y = mouse_y;

objMouseSensor Step Event
if ((mouse_x != start_x) || (mouse_y != start_y)) {
game_end();
}

in case you have file extensions off; you can rename the .exe to a .scr like this, and move it to system32:
Name the file screensaver and place it in C:\
Start->Run->cmd
C:
cd \
ren screensaver.exe screensaver.scr
move screensaver.scr \WINDOWS\System32

change \WINDOWS\System32 to whatever is appropriate for your OS Refer to RetroXYZ's list

Game Maker doesn't make screensavers. Unless you really can just rename EXE fiiles to make SCR files and if you can I had no idea.

Tools>Folder Options>View>Uncheck "Hide File extensions for known file types

then right click the .exe you want to be a screensaver, change .exe to .scr

you might wanna detect keyboard/mouse button inputs too

Creation Event:
CODE
mouse_xstart = mouse_x;
mouse_ystart = mouse_y;

Step Event:
CODE
if (mouse_x != mouse_xstart || mouse_y != mouse_ystart || mouse_button != mb_none || keyboard_key) game_end();
