Catalyst Group: Members Posts: 18290 Member No.: 52 Joined: 13-October 03 Status: (0d)	NCFC 2008 I'm very pleased to bring you news on this year's upcoming Nintendo Community Fangame Convention (NCFC). Many of you were around for the very first NCFC event last October. Despite a few kinks, the event was a huge success, and MFGG had an awesome presence (seriously, we kicked ass). Let's everyone do our best to make NCFC 2008 even better. ShadowMan, DJ Yoshiman, and others have been planning this year's event for the past several months, and there's some pretty exciting additions. First, NCFC 2008 has been scheduled to take place October 21st - October 25th, which starts on Tuesday and ends Saturday night. Registration ends October 1st. For those of you not familiar with last year's NCFC, it included: - Dozens of booths showcasing demos and full release fangames from several Nintendo series including Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and StarFox. - A variety of IRC-based workshops related to game development, including spriting, sound use, and programming. - A 24 hour streaming radio program, Radio NCFC. - A minigame competition lasting for the duration of the convention, with several real prizes at stake for the winners. All of this will be returning this year, and quite a bit more including a new Q&A Session and online game competitions. For those that took pause at the inclusion of Sprites Inc., this year's NCFC is now open to fangames based third party games. The requirement is that the third party game must have been released exclusively or primarily for a Nintendo console. If that condition is ambiguous to you, please contact the NCFC staff to see if your fangame will qualify.

What's allowed has been broadened somewhat, but PC Indie games would not qualify.
