I've done what I can, but I'm just stuck... I've checked Mark's FPS tutorial, but can't get anywhere. Help...

To be specific, putting the Kart on the ground...

It's just the same as the gun object...

there's your problem

where do you want the kart?

in the room or on the camera?

since you're drawing it on the camera

your problem is you shouldn't have the camera and the kart as the same object, google 3rd person camera tutorials for gamemaker, as for your kart:

create event:
kart = d3d_model_create()
d3d_model_load(kart,working_directory + '\yourmodel.d3d')

draw event:

d3d_transform_set_identity();
d3d_transform_add_rotation_z(direction+90);
d3d_transform_add_translation(0,0,0);
d3d_model_draw(kart,x,y,z,background_get_texture(yourtexture));
d3d_transform_set_identity();

Yeah, I'm using sprites...

not too different:
d3d_transform_set_identity();
d3d_transform_add_rotation_x(90);
d3d_transform_add_rotation_y(180);
d3d_transform_add_rotation_z(direction+90);
d3d_transform_add_translation(0,0,z);
draw_sprite_ext(sprite_index,image_index,x,y,image_xscale,image_yscale,image_ang
le,c_white,image_alpha);
d3d_transform_set_identity();

it's better to draw it with sprites than with background in this situation since you can use image_index

also for the translation you want to use x,y,z+(however high you want your sprite drawn), rather than 0s

you also don't want that y rotation in there

doesn't matter, the result is the same and on isn't better than another

translate 0,0,z
or
translate x,y,z

yes it does matter, since you want to be drawing at the location of the object, not the origin of the room

translation makes all coordinates relative you can either translate as zero and draw at x,y,z or translate as x,y,z and draw at zeros so the result is the same

Okay... Could someone please post some sort of demo or something? Just hearing people talk about it won't help.

mr. mario, I googled what you said, and got jack squat.

Hey, black boo. I once found a example on the GMC. I googled "3d mariokart example for Game Maker 7.0" or something like that. I didn't really look at it but it might be helpful to you.

That one's fully 3D. And the link's broken.
