Yeah, wiretapping is now legal. That means that if you find out that your phone is being tapped, it's legal, and you can't take action against the phone company.

And there isn't much reason you would want to either, considering this is meant for suspected terrorists.


And it's not like a random body off the street can legally tap your phone, you know. Certain companies are granted immunity from the wire-tapping laws, it's not "WIRE-TAPPING IS LEGAL GO CRAZY WOOO"

Biggest ****ing assault on the constitution in ever.
Might as well use parts of it as toilet paper now that important aspects have been rendered useless.

Long story short:
If you're suspected of being a terrorist, any kind of threat to the US, or whatever, the government can now tap your connections and invade your privacy.

You could do that normally, but you'd need a court warrant to show that there is probable cause. That's been the civil liberty that's been upheld and respected for years.

Well you don't need a warrant anymore! Now you anything you say can potentially be handed to the government whenever they ****ing want.

This breaks so many long-held liberties it's not funny. ****ing disgusting. -_-

I can only hope action is taken to fix this one day.

explain why a suspected terrorist should have time to cover his tracks and flee when he knows the feds are onto him, but they need to get a court warrant first which can take months?

It's not possible to overreact on this. It's a ****ing outrage.

Am I the only one here that actually agrees with Parakarry.

Then this law will, oddly enough ... not affect you, so stop bawling. It will only affect those who lead suspicious lives, or are remarkably unfortunate / accident-prone. To the other 99.95% of us, it is an irrelevant law.

You should feel proud for being so thoughtful, Parakarry's often victimized without any support at all.
