Very cute. It's like a gijinka. The colouring is very soft, and I can dig that, but one little thing I'm confused on -- is she supposed to be... a tad chubby?

Because judging by the size of her legs and arms in proportion to her waist, her hips, and her rather thick neck, I am lead to believe this Eevee had one too many Pokeblocks in her time. And that's not to say I'm hating on it, because I think far too many drawn females are unrealistically skinny; I'm just pointing that out in case that wasn't the intention. Also, the reason the pose looks "wonky" is because the left leg is a tad longer that the other. I think.

Additionally, light source is a little off. In some parts, it seems like the light's coming from one side, and on other parts another side. You may want to tdo a fabric strudy, too, because the fabric doesn't look very "flowy," if you know what I mean. It's kind of flat, no offense. It seems you don't quite grasp the overlapping effect cloth gets when you twist it about, let it hang down, etc. Looking at real life fabric may help you understand this better; it did for me. But, also, here's a good example of how this "flow" technique can be applied to art (thanks, Ken Akamatsu); pay especially close attention to the skirts and loose sleeves:

Sometimes, when a wind or other force that is strong enough acts upon a fabric, it folds over itself, like on the red skirt. Here's a simpler diagram:

Note the places where the fabric overlaps (marked with red arrows). Also, pardon me if I've been painfully too verbose. It's one of my many vices, indeed. However, I like really your overall piece, though, it's very cute. Please keep it up, you definately have a good style and a good idea here.

oh lord i know! it's because i haven't properly figured out how to draw light from a steady direction when everything it's pouring on doesn't have any sides in that direction (ie light from the top-right, when a leg is going from the top-right to the bottom-left, which happens all the time)

As for clothes, I vary wildly on how well I draw them, especially since I can't decide what I want the material to be, between plasticy cloth, light cottony cloth, leather, etc. I didn't feel like putting much effort into the clothes anyway. I've drawn some flowy stuff before that looked okay (or at least it did at the time) -- the fabric wasn't meant to overlap btw, but i have drawn that before and it's not that hard

the pose is wonky for many, many small reasons, particularly her left arm



EDIT: oh yeah, she's not really fat or anything, but she was meant to have kinda rounded out hips at least -- my framework style uses lots and lots of circles so everybody keeps looking kinda broad

I'll take your word for it on the clothes, but I do think there's something seriously lacking there. Especially on the yellow part. The shadows imply that the clothing is looser, but the bottom of the fabric show no indication of such. But whatever you say.

Well, yeah, it's wonky 'cause of that too.

Try using more cylinders instead of circles, especially between joints (like on thighs and stuff). I didn't notice this before, but the fingers also look a tad chunk. And now that you point it out, yeah... it is really obvious you use alot of circles. Bodies aren't always circles and ovals though...

To be honest, I don't use just perfectly round objects.

However, every shape is based heavily on a circle -- I put a circle down and then modify it slightly to get a general shape. (ie. eyes are ovals with corners placed in them)

The actual image doesn't flawlessly follow the framework, as it's only a guideline for about where things go and about how they are shaped, so the end result looks drastically different anyway. The circles are sort of like a skeleton, of sorts.

I understand. All good artists use a sort of "skeleton sketch" before they fleshing out the details.

But skeletons aren't round.

Mrs. Arforcer's brought up a lot of points that I agree with ... as for the pose itself, it looks wonky to me because I find the arms to be a bit too long. Speaking of arms, the right arm doesn't make sense to me for the pose ... I've never seen anyone run, or skip, or so on with one arm high up and the other down close to the body like that, if you are going for something like ... I don't know how to explain it, when little kids pretend to be an airplane and gliding around with their arms spread out and leaning in one direction, then the upper torso should be tilted to reflect that. (And the right arm shouldn't be as down ... but this is all assuming you were going for that type of pose, sorry.)

I still think you should try narrowing and slightly extending the neck a bit, because it makes Eve look very chubby the way it is now, but again, it's up to you - a bit off topic but I didn't realize how long people's necks were until I looked in the mirror the other day, it was a revelation D:
One last thing, the pelvic-leg area seems strange to me, it's hard for me to tell where the legs start and where the crotch is, this is kind of adding to the thick look :X

But okay enough negatives, I didn't say earlier but I love how the tail is rendered. I've mentioned that I like the hair, and as always I love the colors you choose and the slight tint of color to the outline really does unify the piece well. I'm also really digging the background, I'm not sure why, especially because butterflies freak me out but um ... yeah XD

Keep it up!

I'm not yelling at you for the chest omg this is a historical moment
