I just want to be sure about this so I con't erase my data. I have Mario Kart 64 on VC. If I erase my channel but not my save data I can redownload it and still have all of the cups beaten, right?

I'm pretty sure your save data is erased if you delete the VC channel.

Where is your save data? If you did/can save it onto an SD card, you should be safe; if you take it out the system can't erase it.

If you delete the channel, the save data stays there.

Once you buy something, you can re-download it for free. On the same console, of course.

It kind of has to do with the fact that there are way over 48 channels you can have.

To save memory and play it when you feel like it (not too often since I have MK Wii)

Ya, when you delete the chanel, the save data is not lost. That is stored in the Wii Save Data menu, and the chanel itself is stored under the Wii Chanels menu.

1. The saved data stays in the Wii's memory or in the SD Card.

2. You can erase the game and redownload it for free or save it in the SD Card.

3. If you format the Wii's memory, you must pay Wii Points to buy the game again and even the SD's backup won't save you but the game's save file is reusable if saved in the SD Card.
