A virus in my comp, most likely

So yeah, I have this one virus on my computer. Every once in a while, a popup opens (look @ the attachment) and sez that "my computer may be blahblah ****". I am absolutely, 100% sure that it's a fake and that if I install it, my computer turns into a virus database. So pls help me.

Oh, and yeah, if you want to know HOW to help me, you could tell me what is the name of the file or something that causes these so I could remove it.

dpes it only open when your browsing the web?

System Restore should work.

The two most recent viruses that I had deleted all system restore points and created one right after my computer had been infected. So make sure you check when you're going back to before you do it.

This is what happened to me. Look in your program files and look at any strange applications look like random letters. (Like "wzsdtkel" or something) It might be a lot of them, it depends on how long it's been on the computer. Scan the app with a anti-virus to make sure it's not something important. If it's ok, delete them. If you are very unlucky, the virus might start creating .dlls in the system32 folder. It might also start corrupting you're programs too.

The easier way to get rid of it is to back-up your important non-infected stuff and reinstall windows.

I got some applications ou should probably run:

AVG Anti-Virus
Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
Spybot Search and Destory

If these don't solve it, try them in safe-mode. If THAT doesn't work, re-install.

That looks false, anyway. Not the window (you didn't shopped it, that's what I mean). But the message is all like "HEY LOOK YOU GOT A VIRUSES THAT WILL MAKE YOUR PC GO BOOM SO CLICK ON THIS BUTTON SO YOU CAN GET REAL VIRUSES HEAL YOUR PC".

spybot-search and destroy it.

if it is what I think it is (antivirus 2008 pro) it will block most attempts to remove it.

Download a completely different virus that destroys the old virus.


Thats like that story where some guy tries to get rid of his Mice infestation by overrunning his palace with Cats.

You should have seen the ones that popped up when I had the virus.. this is exactly what on said...(well, the basic idea)

"WinAnnoymous can delete traces that could compromise your marriage and career. Some traces have been found on this computer. Please install WinAnoymous, scan your computer and delete these traces."

Then, it was two buttons. one said install, the other said cancel. I always exited out, then...horrible stuff came up....

Anyways, I suggest you (the topic maker) reinstall Windows unless you want to do it the hard way, which is deleted the virus off the computer. Most likely if you scan it with a anti-virus, it won't get rid of it. (Believe me, I tried so many of them.)
