Just got a new router, and instead of typing this all again, I am just going to paste:

[14:18] Ryoga: We got it, set it up, named it, everything.
[14:18] Ryoga: Just haven't put on the security thing.
[14:18] - αshley ; encircle me, i need to be taken down: =/
[14:18] Ryoga: And on the computer we look for available networks to link up to, hoping to find ours.
[14:19] Ryoga: There it is, with a nice five bar rating.
[14:19] Ryoga: We try to connect, but it just won't.
[14:19] Ryoga: It will instead say "Not Connected".
[14:19] - αshley ; encircle me, i need to be taken down: Hm..
[14:19] Ryoga: And on the router, the light under the globe is off. I guess that light means internet.

Also-
I am not a tech head, so try to explain in laymans terms, if possible.

How are you using the router? Just from a DSL Modem, Wireless LAN adapter or Satellite (Different web sources need to be wired differently when a router is in play)?

Uh... We use it for WiFi on the computers and a laptop. And I use it for my Wii.
Its used with a DSL modem, I think...

Its a G distance thing, if that matters...

Given that are you having software problems? I just remembered it worked fine when we were trying to brawl; is there an error code to it? Did you diagnose it?

Wait, if its named, setup and everything else whats wrong? Just not connecting for outside sources? Does your firewall conflict with any of the settings?

what kind of router is it, specifically
check with the manufacturer if there are known problems with the firmware it's running and if you should update
and have you tried connecting with different machines?

Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO.
Thats what is on the box.

Well we have a computer in the kitchen. Its the faster one and the one everyone prefers. And we have a little Ativa 802. 11g-54Mbps thing on top of our tower to pick up available WiFi signals. It shows up when we click "View available connections" with five whole bars and everything. But it just won't connect. I notice of the lights on the router, the third light out of four is lit and the globe icon light isn't lit.

It just won't connect.

As for a firewall, I don't think so. We had the (slightly) better tech head look at it, and he couldn't diagnose anything.
I just tried adding that little Ativa thing to the list of Exceptions, but that didn't help.
