Costum Mario (DUPLICATE), Mario in my new "Gritty Mushroom" style.

This is the first part of my "Gritty Mushroom" style. it's Mario with different kinds of Power-ups (it's unfinished!). so tell me what you think of it!
the name comes from the colours, they're based on SSBB where it is dark colours, and there is an Mario stage called "Mushroomy Kingdom" which is an desert version of 1-1 and 1-2 of Super Mario Bros.

EDIT: i've fixed the Fire Flower, the fire balls, the text and the walking.

Not bad, But I would suggest fixing up the text, and the walking needs some work.
And the fire flower seems blocky. And the fire balls seem to straight.

"Costume" Mario? I tink you mean "Custom" Mario.
Its nice, but it could use some work. Keep up the good work and keep making "Costumes".

Not exactly bad, but not exactly good either.
Exactly how is it "Gritty" ?

Gritty =
1. Resembling Sand (or grit)
2. Courageous and resolute (determined and brave)

It doesn't look like and sand doesn't exactly look courageous either.

Mario's body is incredibly blocky.

One thing you should never do is shade Mario like you did. You did one pixel of light near the light source, and a pixel of dark away from the light source. This gives the feel that the image is more 3D. It's great for a game like tetris, but not for Mario himself.

You need an extra walking animation (The only hand that ever goes forward is his right hand. Left has to go forward to. This looks incredibly unnatural, and lazy.)

Sorry if I sound harsh. I understand that this is your first spritesheet though, and is not bad for a first. But remember, there's a difference between a first spritesheet, and a first sprite.

Stop calling up technicalities on other people. It doesn't make you look anymore intelligent than they are.

Needs some work, and the head seems too far back.

I'd just like to know the reasoning behind the name is all.

Besides, gritty, in terms of spriting, can also represent roughness of ther sprite or darkness. The sprite is fairly dark, so "Gritty" is an acceptable term for this.

Where's the costume?

all there is is fire mario, but that's not really a costume.

yea overshaded, fix that and it´s fine

...over shaded? I count about 3 shades per color. Nowhere near over shaded.

I have the feeling that you got the idea of Superball and Bitsize from my power-up cards. If you did, I'm not mad at you. Anyway I like this.

Superball was already a Mario Power.

yeah but he made the color scheme for the ball powerup.

I don't think he was the first to do this.


Oh right and I almost forgot

Protip: only specific characters that appear in one or two games get "associated game(s)" - otherwise it turns into a cluster**** and the filter system fails.
