Tying to fix my MP3 Player, Need help :l

Since my sister practically yanked the earphones right from my ears, and from the jack, the MP3's Headphone socket seems to have become faulty, i've opened the Mp3 Player up, but there's no sign of any defect- is there anything i can add to my Mp3 to get the jack to work (Strip of whatever or something) or should i shout at her and tell her to buy me a new one, oh and if you want pics of the Mp3, i'll take some on request.

Why would she yank the Headphones outta your ear and the jack?

Yep, i have another set- it's definitely the jack- i have to wiggle ALL of my earphones connection to get it to work.

As for why she yanked them out of my ears, she 'Needed' them for the gym, and i said no... well, you can't say no to my sister she just argues, so she basically just... well, pulled em out of my ears and the MP3.

Well if it's the jack then I think the only solution it to get a new one, unless someone knows how to fix a jack

Well, i think it is fixable, i mean nothing looks out of place, maybe i just need to add something stupid like a paper clip, or hell Blu-tack to stop the headphone jack moving.

Duct tape can work wonders here.

You may need to get a new one; I've seen a 1GB video/mp3 player for $40.00.

she may have torqued the spring inside the jack IN on your mp3 player when she pulled on the headphones.

If this is the case, I would be pissed.

You any good with a soldering iron dude? Think the device warrents the repair attempt? You could attempt to do a bit of a bodge job. If you've got a headphone extenstion lead (or buy one cheap), you could chop the cable 5cm from the end, solder it in place of the jack (you'll some loose end sticking out of the casing-loop it round something inside the casing if you can to help stop it being torn out again), and then you should be able to plug in a pair headphones.

It won't look pretty, and if she pulls the same stunt again, that'll probably be the end of it, but if you can solder without getting the SSD, HD or any over components too hot, you could get a working mp3 player out of it.

However... if you can get her to buy you a new one, go for it, and give her the ****e one she broke.

If the female end (The part on the mp3 player) has a transparent cover on it try to get a close up shot of it if you can.

This happened to my mp3 player... but I don't know how. I have to bend the earphones to hear my music. I just do this. Of course, I can't use my mp3 player all of the time while bending it so I hardly use it.
