How many Shine Sprites do I need to beat Super, Mario Sunshine?

I'm finally trying to beat the game. Do I have to get all 120?

It's actually not that difficult. Just requires a bit of patience and effort. There are several online guides that will help you.

I believe you only need 64 stars to finish the game.

What happens? I never got that Far.

No You Only Need like 70-80 I think. then you go to corona Mountain.

The bare minimum number of Stars Shines you can have at the end of the game is

50 1 at the beginning of the game 6 from world 1 (skip the first star) 7 from worlds 2-7 1 after defeating Bowser

None of the stars shines besides those mentioned count towards unlocking Corona Mountain. Extra stars shines will only help you unlock worlds 2-7 (and as a side note, you can break into world 7 at the beginning of the game if you have outstanding jumping skills).

You need to beat up to level 7 in each world.
Then you can fight the final boss.

You need to get all of the Shadow Mario stars. And Bowser's a whimp when you fight him.

Actually, this is the only truth.

Yes and no.

He is easy, but the tinniest thing can go wrong and make you lose.

For example, I missed Bowser's mouth and was knocked out of the sky. I was jumping along the falling bits of the stage and a splash of that liquid hit me. Also, one time I rocket jumped to do a slam to break the stage, and a bullet bill hit me mid air.

One time I actually missed the platform

dunno how, I was in the middle of it when I jumped.
