Just yesterday, the Civil War ended. Earlier today, the sun became a red giant. Oh, and an hour ago, I walked on the moon. Now here I am at the computer talking on MFGG. Totally makes sense.

No. I don't see what you mean. The would not happen at the exact same time. Things still have an order, time is still a factor. I don't see what's so hard to grasp.

No, they wouldn't have happened at the same time. Infinite means no beginning and no end, not everything happening at once or whatever you're trying to make it mean.

Okay, maybe I'm making my point in a weird way

IF the universe has always been, then EVERYTHING would have already happened. No future. We wouldn't wait until tomorrow, because it'd have already had to have been. It's dumb to think there's any infinity. Because all this would have had to been counted.

If time's never started and will never end, then why are we at the point in time? Rather than having just been? If anyone can speak Welsh, please tell me and I'll explain properly XD

Time goes backwards infinitely, but only forwards as far as it's gone so far.

So of course if you say "I'll give you an apple after an infinite amount of time", I'll never get the apple, because you're talking about the future. But if you say "an infinite amount of time passed before I gave you this apple." it makes perfect sense.

When you think about infinite time, you have to think about the present for it to work, not the past or future.


This is hard to explain, so let me use a line as an example. If you know what a line is, you know that it's a point that goes on forever in two directions. It's impossible for us to draw a line. We would never have a piece of paper large enough.

But we can easily draw a line segment, or a point on that line. So for time, you can't think about the beginning or the end, you can only think about segments of it or points in it.

This isn't possible! If the past was infinate then they'd be no present, because we wouldn't have reached this point in time!
