Dogs VS Cats, A REALLY old debate

... This topic makes me depressed because "btw it's not like I don't like dogs but THEY'RE DISGUSTING ****FACED SLOBBERING SACKS OF MEAT THAT WASTE SPACE **** I WANT THEM ALL TO DIE" is what people say all the time ... christ, just say you hate them, then.

In case it wasn't obvious enough I love dogs, I haven't really been up close with many cats but "cats rule dogs smell" bugs me to hell.

Slobbering, saliva and drooling on a dog's part I can understand depending on what breed it is, I love seeing golden retrievers or huskies or whatever because they're so BIG you can bear hug them but their tongues are like ... ham and covers your entire face-oh god I need to take a shower

My stupid little useless shih tzu is lovable though particularly because she's a stupid little useless shih tzu, I guess I really am crazy for dogs, which is kind of weird since I wasn't really allowed near animals and wasn't around dogs ... but even if they barf in front of me I'll die from happiness because it's a dog :V
Though, it's noteworthy that my shih tzu acts more like a cat than a dog a lot of the times ... go figure.
Wow okay ... I need to go to sleep I can't sit down and type coherently and I keep editing this post.

Mrs. Arforcer ... I find it kind of funny that you don't seem to like dogs since ... doesn't Medaforcer have like 3 (freaking corgi I want it)

Cats and Dogs both have good and bad qualities:
Dogs do tricks, help humans, save lives, guard property, all sorts of things with the right kind of training! But at the same time, dogs can hurt/kill humans, destroy property, and be used for crime...

Some people think that Dogs are smarter than cats, and some people think that cats don't do the same as dogs because they're stubborn/proud. But that's not the case:
Cats can learn how to do things that dogs can if trained to do such, but because we underestimate them, they are very rarely ever trained. I'll bet if you treat a cat the same way you treat a dog, it'll act like one, and vice versa.

So... I think they're both awesome.

Agreed, it's just coincidence that dogs are so much better.

Because cats are underestimated in intelligence/cooperation. Of course most breeds of dogs are stronger than cats, no question.

Not really, my friend has taught his cat to come to him when he whistles.

I would choose cats to help with the mice population, and dogs to remain alert during the night, they both make great pets.

Hamesters and Guinea pigs on the other hand, suck, all they do is **** everywhere and are no fun to hold...or watch.

This is very far from "acting the same as a dog".

Hamsters and guinea pigs are relatively low maintenance unless you intend to build a theme park for them like some people do

You basically drop food in the cage every day and clean it once a week

Beats the hell out of an ant farm

seriously? I guess I'm just paranoid when we were taking care of a friend's hamster for a week since I was constantly checking up on it (you've got to be kidding on the 'clean cage a week' thing by the way)

I disagree with them not being fun to watch because seeing a hamster yawn is HILARIOUS

By the way all the cat people out there ... are their tongues usually like sandpaper when they lick you? I was pretty surprised with a classmate's cat

I don't know about other people but my dog gets jealous like hell if she smells another dog or animal from me and refuses to associate with me for days if it happens >.> XD
