Took it earlier. Fun stuff.

Man I really wouldn't mind doing stuff for the main site to pay back for what I had previously submitted.

I never go to main site so I have no reason to be site staff.

I've had a look at some of the things people have done in the test and a lot of them don't match up to my results. I don't know whether this means I've done it horribly wrong or a lot of other people have done it horribly wrong. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.

This reminds me of people talking outside an exam hall after it finished.

I'll probably give it a go I suppose, after knowing the real reason as to why I was let off. A problem with this test already though is that one of the sprites doesn't tell you at all who made it, but if it were actually in the queue, it'd say who had submitted it. Reviews also give no information as to what game is being reviewed. These are pretty important details to include.

These are actually completely irrelevant details, especially for the reviews.

This is part of it.

It's also that it's not related to whether you should accept the sprite or not. All of the criteria for acceptance can be determined without knowing who submitted a sprite and without knowing (ahead of time) which game a review is for.

Reviews should be giving you information on the game. That's what reviews are for -- for people to read to see if they are interested in the game. If the review itself doesn't tell you anything about the game, then it shouldn't be accepted.

It helps knowing who actually submitted something, since we have some things on the site unlabeled, but we at least know who had it up. Also, it'd help knowing what the game actually was being reviewed, since you can get an understanding of what the people are talking about as well as if they throw in random things about the game that may or not be true.

And what does this have to do with quality control?

You can usually identify the faulty random fallacies. It's practically impossible for anybody to sneak one in subtly enough while also taking the time to write an otherwise acceptable review without sending out red flags.

Technically it could be stolen? Hard to know, since it's not labeled at all!

You'd want to know who MADE the sprite. And if you know who made the sprite, it doesn't really matter who submitted it, now does it?

It'd be a bit more effective for you to explain to Delmore why it doesn't matter for this trial who submitted the items we're scoping.

...Draco do you get this at all? You can only go by the label on the sprite here, there's no label. Now you have absolutely no idea who made it, so if you did find this same exact sheet somewhere, you have no idea if they were submitting it or not. And it does also matter on this one for another reason, but I'm not going to post why since that's going to pretty much set up why you should decline it or accept it. Last time this test was up, there were a few stolen sprites, so it's safe to assume there would be this time around.

Yes. You're the one who doesn't get it. You're being paranoid about OMFG WHAT IF ITS STOLEN!?!?!? which like never happens, and when it does, it's ****ing obvious. (Like Ninja Paper Mario sprites or mismatched amalgamations.)

If it's stolen and subtle, the real author will let you know, and if he doesn't, where's the problem? If you don't recognize the sprite in the first place, how can you possibly check whether the sprite is stolen, even if you do know the submitting account?

There's no reason for this test to let you know the assumed name of the person submitting the work, because they're not going to be giving you trick questions. It's only an introductory test.

And you can just say, "ASSUMING IT'S NOT STOLEN ..." and write up your response as a catch-all.

And this is supposed to be for people to prove themselves and be prepared for the real site. This will never happen there, so you constantly have to be paranoid and looking around at other sprites just to make sure they're stolen or not.

I'm just going to finish taking the test now, but if you wish to continue, go right ahead. It'd help to know who submitted these so you don't have to just assume, so you can use everything out there to know if it's original or not. If someone did have some form of bias, then it'd be good for that to be revealed early on so they don't just get hired and decline certain things.

Also feel free to quote and attempt to be insulting. I know you love the last word!

Delmore it doesn't matter for this trial who submitted the items we're scoping.

In fact chances are these submissions will be dealt with by an already existing mod after this test. Your job is to assess quality. One of the previous tests had content made up by staff members just for the zip pack. We could have done the same thing here if we weren't lazy.

Also one of the reasons names aren't included is to remove any possibility of bias against users.
