I'll probably take it out tomorrow and look but I'm pretty sure it isn't there...

No, I mean, a digital marking. You might be able to find it hidden away in the properties or something through your computer.

Incidentally, can't you take it to your girlfriend's computer and check which drive it's using?

I honestly haven't done troubleshooting in over a year, so I cannot for the life of me find the drivers for this thing, and it's labled under hardware as DVD Drive 16x.
