You know how most of the time when a movie or something comes out, they make a game based on it and it SUCKS ASS? Well, this is the topic for games based on movies / comedy acts / rappers that you feel have managed to beat the odds and are actually decent or even good games! I'll start! Muppet RacemaniaPlaystation Strip poker* Pros: - You can race as like fifty characters, using any character's vehicle. You can be Kermit and all them, but you can also be Sam the Eagle or Large Marge.
- The first time you select a level, you will see a movie clip from a Muppets movie, related to the level. To see it again, find the movie tape in adventure mode or reset your PlayStation.
- Statler & Waldorf make jokes on the menu for every level, including jokes about the quality of the game. They'll make one joke every time you switch to another level.
- When you save your game, it shows a scene from a Muppets movie ... except that an object from the scene has been cleverly edited into a Playstation memory card.
- You can attack opponents with straight-fire fish, bouncing bombs, homing chickens, and landmine penguins. All of these explode.
- There is a Kids Mode that allows you to basically hold down the gas button while the game steers for you.
- You can race in Fraggle Rock.
Cons: - Unfortunately, you cannot play as Oscar the Grouch or other Sesame-Street-specific characters. : (
- It takes a while to get used to the slippery controls.
- Unlocking stuff requires you to finish tasks in Adventure Mode, which is fine; unfortunately, as soon as you clear one of these tasks, the level ends and you have to restart it to finish the others. The good news is that you will not end the level by completing a task you have already done (ie. collecting every food item in the level will only end it the first time.)
- Unlocking vehicles is done by filling your special bar by collecting food, and then using your special attack. You will unlock the vehicle of everybody you hit, but only on the character who used the special move, and only if the characters you hit are not disabled (dead.) This can take a while.
- Loading times are just barely long enough to be too long. They have random Muppets' pictures as loading screens. Most of them are ugly or scary, like Pepe, Janice, and the... pink guy.
* Obviously not. It's racing, of course.

I've played a bit of licensed games that I've enjoyed, but for now I'll go with this one: Mickey's Racing AdventureGame Boy Color Racing...Adventure? In a way, this game seems to me like what Diddy Kong Racing might've been like if it was a GBC game (Fittingly enough, the game was developed by Rare). Pros- There are quite a lot of nice Disney references packed into the game. A few examples include upgrades and new vehicles purchasable in a shop run by Ludwig Von Drake, a shop run by non-other than Magica de Spell, and the use of Casey Jr. to travel to the various tracks.
- Well done visuals considering the technical limitations, and some catchy music.
- A large part of the game takes place in a sort of top-down overworld in which Mickey and Co. travel on foot, which is actually pretty in-depth: Pete's cronies roam about and will take your money. You swap characters by going to the respective character's house. You can find cash and acorns lying around to pay for things.
- Playable characters include Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Though Pluto cannot enter races, he can do a variety of things on the overworld others can't, such as digging up money, warp holes, or holes which lead to digging puzzles (every one must be completed to finish the game).
- A variety of unlockable cheats, including Disco Mode, which makes racing seem like a drug-trip.
Cons- The actual "Racing" portions of the game are similar to games like RC Pro AM: isometric. It can take some getting used to, and track obstacles may be difficult to anticipate.
- Despite the Disney elements, the game isn't the easiest. In some respects, this isn't necessarily bad, but though the various puzzles are a nice break from racing, Pluto's digging puzzles can be pretty frustrating.
