Super Smash DDNN!, My Character...

I've got this new SSB game in progress that me and my team have nearly finished! Here is my sprite sheet for my character. I've got a near complete sheet ( Just got to add smash attacks ) and a little reference of what i have so far. Please give C+C and suggestions are welcome!

Look cartoonish. I like it. But shouldn't it be green? I think your ref was a green knight...

Good, but people don't punch vertically.

Yeah, his punch looks useless. He'd have to be close enough to lick them before he could lay a hit.

He looks as if he'd get along well with my reference character...

Anyways, the spriting itself is very good, but the non-sprite is a little... awkward looking. The lineart seems a little thick and there's no line variation. Also, the highlights on the armour don't make much sense, but the quality of the sprites really make up for it. Don't worry. Keep up the good work!

No offense, but I don't see quality in a chubby looking knight sprite with partial armor shading. Not saying it's bad, though.

To be honest, I don't think he'd be a very good character in your game. He's got extremely short range. Does he honestly need punching AND kicking to go with his sword attacks? Why not just use a sword completely?

The "spinning sword" animation looks incredibly lazy. He doesn't appear to hold the sword in the front and back views of it.

It's not entirely bad, but it definately needs work.

Thanks for comments, the punchis more of a chop ( Guess it doesn't make a difference does it? ) and its my first version sheet. I'm expecting criticism on this so i can use it to update the sheet ( In other words fix the mistakes ).
