Whether watching a movie, playing a video game, or even just being alone in the dark in general... what elements scare you the most?

I have experienced "phantom insects". It's when you feel a tingling sensation like something is crawling on your body even though there is nothing there. I am afraid of spiders, ticks, and I generally find all bugs disgusting so I freak out if I feel like something is crawling on me. I also get a scare out of anticipating danger in games like Resident Evil. Things jumping out when I don't anticipate them too. In horror video games, atmosphere is everything to me. Take for example the scenario in Luigi's Mansion where the whole mansion has been plunged into darkness due to the thunderstorm outside. When the lightning flashes inside, the shadows seem to play tricks on you and the swarms of ghosts surrounding you with no safe haven to go to until you get the power back on really have an effect, at least on me. I wouldn't say that Luigi's Mansion is a scary game, but the atmosphere is amazing.

An example of scary moments I've had in a video game is in Resident Evil 4 when you know the chainsaw wielding Plagos are about. Well they always freak me out.

I'm afraid of unstoppable evils that cannot be conquered.

As for the scariest game I've played, it was (so far) Devil May Cry, when those weird three-armed monkey things jumped out and attacked me. But I wasn't really scared, I knew it was coming.

The most memorable experience with horror games for me will always be the hell hounds from Resident Evil. I remember watching my uncle running down a hall in the first one when they crashed through the windows and went after his character. It certainly freaked me out. When I played Resident Evil 2 and whenever they would show up I would get the same feeling. Then those ravens went through the window later on in the game... Then there's Nemesis from 3. Always crashing through some window or wall. I really did dread his appearances. Then the Plagos in Resident Evil 4, when their heads would burst and some alien with a blade, tail thing would slice my character... Yeah Resident Evil is just awesome.

I was scared when I defeated the Magmoor (or whatever it's called; a boss in Norfair) in Super Metroid. I couldn't go anywhere, I tried to figure out where to go and all of a sudden the skeletal remains burtst through the wall of spikes creating a new path.
That moment got me jumping! From a SNES game!

Generally, only sudden creepy actions turns me yellow and I have fear of heights. Though, if my mother or one of my brothers see a spider, I'm the one who disposes of it.

I have fear of heights.

I can relate, big time. That is one way I would never want to die. To see it coming and you can do nothing about it, but plummit to your death.

I'm scared of everything.

That's what you get for being raised by a paranoid mother.

But as for things that stand out, I get really uncomfortable in high places, as well as around insects, and generally dangerous situations (someone swerving around in a car or something). I also get nervous around dogs. I was actually afraid of a kitten I had once. Not because it was dangerous, but it was like the size of my palm, so I was afraid I'd accidentally step on it.

But I'm not the type to scream at anything. I just get really uncomfortable.

Well games/movies don't scare me much, most of the scares are predictable and get old soon. YAAAAAAAAWN

But on the topic of what DOES scare me (or freak me out) it has to be 4:30-5:00 in the morning, I always think there's someone watching me and I can't really do anything about it untill about dawn X(

I'm uncomfortable around big dogs but only because I broke my femur running away from a mean one that got loose, ankle got caught in its leash. I've calmed down since, though. It was a long time ago.

I get scared after watching/reading murder mysteries. I always feel like someone is going to kill.

Oh, and one night, at like 2:00AM, I read about serial killers on the internet (don't ask me why, I was bored). I scared the **** out of myself, and ended up staying up all night with like 3 hours of sleep, because I thought that someone was going to kill me x_x

So techncally, I have a slight fear of the dark, but I sleep with lights off anyways.

Do you perhaps mean Crocomire?

On-topic, the scariest thing that I've ever experienced on a video game would have to be the ghosts that jump out of the walls in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I had nightmares about them.
That, and the El Garrados (blind knight guys) from Resident Evil 4. But the ghosts are still scarier.
Also, Large Marge from Peewee's Big Adventure.

Is this what you meant:

Nothing really scares me. I prefer high places. I don't mind the dark. I can't really think of anything that scares me.

Of course, things make me jump. But, I wouldn't call it being scared, more like surprised.

I have an irrational fear of bees and things that sting too. I will literally run from them. I don't scream, though.
